Here are some of my latest datalogs after pulling 0.7 timing in most cells, not more FLKC between 6000rpm and 6800 rpm, some spikes down lower now but it all looks good. anything else look out of place?

If you have a look at your ltft its pretty high in places , best if its below 5% everywhere, at idle it may vary a bit more with large temp changes. Then look at your commanded AFR vsAFR its out about 10% in places above 3v maf, ie your running leaner than what the ecu is asking for. You would probably benifit from some maf scaling both open and closed loop. See the links below ,also you may be better stating off with one of @Wayno s example maps for A01G and try his maf scales it might save you a bit of time links are in his signiture |

So for about two weeks after getting my OFT I was enjoying a solid .9 - 1 IAM and the car felt great. I started with a Stage 1 91 Octane tune because I'd recently been out of town and there's garbage for gas in NW Texas and SE New Mexico.
I then got my JDL UEL catless header, OP and catted + resonated FP and switched to the Stage 2 UEL 93 Octane tune and enjoyed a solid 1 IAM until re-fueling one night and first thing the next morning I'm at .7 IAM and for the past week or so it's been anywhere between .7 and .9 with, today, it dipping as low as .67 IAM and I watched it do that in one solid drop from .88-.9 with a single blip of the throttle in 6th at ~2800-3000 RPM. With the realtime graphing of OFT I can pretty much create all the inverted peaks I want in 6th gear by modulating the throttle at certain RPM. I just got back from doing some datalogging and the results are kinda interesting. The air was a little cooler than earlier today but I was at around .86 IAM and got a log of three runs in 3rd gear up to redline, with under 20% throttle input. http://datazap.me/u/burnetrhoades/04...s?log=0&data=1 ...I then did a WOT pull... http://datazap.me/u/burnetrhoades/04...s?log=1&data=1 ...and then another... http://datazap.me/u/burnetrhoades/04...s?log=2&data=1 ...and when I got back to the freeway on-ramp my IAM popped back up to 1 and it stayed there the rest of the way home. So, timing wise it seemed like the gas plus warm weather conspired to kill my performance, because I could really feel the difference. I also noticed that most of the knock in normal driving seemed to occur when I'd go off throttle during a gear change or sometimes going off throttle but staying in gear at midrange revs. And then the knock from throttle in high gear at low RPM that seems common. Though I was surprised I ended up back at 1 IAM after doing these logs, I'll take it. I'm still curious if anything seems suspiciously out of whack or like I need to get into MAF scaling.

Is that something to be concerned about? Otherwise I seem to be maybe a touch richer at higher RPM/throttle. I wonder if that accounts for the residue on my tailpipes, just a small black patch that runs down the center bottom of both. I'm thinking maybe because my numbers look pretty close to being where they should I should set the alarms you outlined in your link and not obsess over watching the graphs. I see knock correction pull down and I get this feeling like something is wrong but it seems like it's all -.69 or smaller, except for what pulled my timing earlier that now seems corrected. I drove to Houston yesterday and it's stuck at IAM of 1 but I noticed small pulls on the correction graph from cruise control throttle inputs to maintain speed in 6th that didn't result in a change in IAM but I see those dips at all and I feel a little sick.

On petrol you will see the odd bit of minor knock occasionally if its less than -1 just ignore it. Log a stock tune then you wont worry any more :-) you will usually get some afr variance between commanded and actual especially around 3V where the changeover between cloed loop and open loop occurs see wayno's guide http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94822 here is one of his logs single pull http://datazap.me/u/wayne/98-v844-3-...&zoom=852-1072 and a longer one http://datazap.me/u/wayne/98-v844-3-...0-11-13&solo=6 note the variance in afr around 3v and the odd bits of knock hear and their |

In my experience, changing the ignition timing will change the measured AFR a bit because it will change how much fuel is burnt successfully (the reading should go a bit leaner), just an FYI.

Ah, good to know, thanks, that puts my mind at ease a bit. And I'll be checking out Wayno's stuff, as well as the JDL tweaks he and Shiv have.

Hey guys,
Just got my UEL installed the other day and flashed wayno's 98UEL tune vita OFT. Just wondering if someone could have a look at my log to see if there's anything unusual? Hints of an exhaust leak? Or weird numbers? Cheers! http://datazap.me/u/thaalkaholiks/ue...data=6-8-10-14 |
