Welcome to car modifying and the internet? However I suspect many people here race but not drag, so they wouldn't have a 1/4 mile time

Yes.

Because drag racing isn't affected by tires, launch RPM, driver skill, track prep, etc etc etc.

I'm a way faster bench racer than anyone here! I'll take you all on!

Pretty sure that is the point.

If we just go by a spec sheet no one would own this car in the first place I think.

I personally am going to go with the newest revision of the Vortech kit....why? Because my local and trusted speed shop, said so. Sure the Innovate sounds amazing, the JRSC makes a ton of power, Edelbrock has the big name, but end of the day, my #1 priority is a car that runs well. My local shop has recommended this kit and I will go with them. Who cares if I am giving up 13WTQ at 3200RPM and who cares if i am making 12 more WHP than the Edelbrock kit? I want my car to start in the am....run whenever I need it and put a smile on my face.

If you want that low end grunt...get the Edelbrock/Innovate kit, based puerly on principal. Want the high end, power that builds with RPMs? Get the Vortech/JRSC etc....

If you are really curious about WHP here and there and need big numbers....build the engine and turbo it/high boost SC setup which requires custom parts.

Ok. Just because your local shop recommends it doesn't mean other kits don't do those things. If that kit meets your needs great. Just because 1 shop says its the end all be all doesn't make it so, and that is the purpose of this entire thread.

I hope it works for you. Post results.

I don't think you understood what I was saying.....they are all great kits. All of the centrifugal kits, do generally the same thing. If my local shop has installed a bunch of kit X, safely....who cares if kit Y made 5WHP more or 10 WTQ less? Not anyone but a serious track junkie. I want my car to start everyday....my local shop would love to do another kind of kit and learn about it, but I want my car to be safe and reliable.

there are pro's and con's of every kit.

Pick one of the "main" ones and dont look back! You'll be way faster than any n/a frs/brz lol.

Ahh, I read it as:

"Specs aren't as important as people showing performance on the track."

I would very much like to see some datalogs of IAT taken from a JRSC fitted car lapping a circuit.

I drove a car with HKS v1 and V2 SC kit before going with Cosworth. I just found the roots charger makes a lot more torque everywhere which I preferred.
JRSC IATs spike faster, but also drop much faster; that's the nature of the air-air intercooler. +10-15C is typical for the average driver, under track conditions. At street driving manners, IAT is ambient to maybe +5C over ambient.
@sw20kosh's data.

On a 70-75F day, with an experienced/fast driver, using the JRSC. High line = stock hood. Low line = with TrackSpec hood louvers (more flow = more FMIC cooling = lower IATs... and because air-air cooling results are very immediate, it's easy to see):

That is an odd looking dyno run for the JRSC. Mine doesn't drop off like that at 6800 ...
