I would highly recommend that you NOT drive around the bay area with an N1 exhaust and a UEL catless header. You will get the wrong kind of attention, and if they ask you to pop the hood, may the gods of California's jurisprudence have mercy on your soul. I'm partial to the sound of the Q300 exhaust, UEL catless header & HFC front pipe combination. Many compliments on the exhaust note and it fits the STX autocross rules.

I'm not sure how loud the Invidia N1 is comparative to the Tomei 60S, but here is a short, unedited clip of my car with the JDL catted UEL, and my Tomei 60S -

I have since added the silencer which does a decent job at reducing the overall volume, and virtually eliminates the bit of drone at lower RPM, but it did change the exhaust note to be more of a grunt, with less bass (I love dat bass), so Ill probably be removing it and adding a bit of sound deadening material to deal with that.

The sound is tame, and even quiet during normal driving with constant throttle, but quite loud under load, and any sort of acceleration.

FWIW my car is an AT, and at the time of this video I had the GrimmSpeed intake installed (I have since reverted back to stock intake, which I feel did reduce the volume slightly.)

TLDR; that'll probably give you an approximate idea of how loud it'll be.

You could always do catless header with a HFC front pipe and leave the catback stock (with nicer tips)
I'm trying to decide if I want to do that or leave the front pipe stock and upgrade the catback.
Good to have options! Haha

The video in your original post is the exact same set up I have. Video cant get the sound exactly as it is, but it's pretty throaty, deep sound. Beware, it is super loud on cold start for those 45 seconds if you dont move off. It's very funny, I love it.

sorry about noob question...
yes the OFT is probably your best option you get a set of tunes with it for variuos mods and petrol 91\93 and E85

and if you go back to stock you can unmarry oft and on sell it for a good price.

alternativly if you have a reputable tuner near by check out their pricing

Yes. You just lose cruise control while the CEL is on.

It's a bit of a rip off to spend that money on a catless uel and not make all that power out of it and to just get it for "sound" you really should get an OFT and put the stage 2 93 or 91 tune on it.

any tune for a catless header will disable cel code P 0420, but a tune also optomise engine fueling ignition and cam timing to extract the maximium benifit from you header, without a tune header will only provide about 50% of the possible benifit.

Oh right I forgot you're in california so you'll need to run the 91 octane Stage 2 tune from openflash, and its perfectly ok to get a used one they age and sell well. Also in cali I think you may need to put your stock header on around inspection time.

I think i will go for 91 tune instead of E85,, the closest E85 gas station is about 15 miles away lol...and there is only 3 e85 station within 50 miles radius.
