I have never gotten rid of a car before it was paid off, and traded in only one right after it was paid for, which was to buy the BRZ. I usually will hang on to a car at least 4-6 more years. In the case of the BRZ, it has a permanent place in my garage unless something happens that would force me to sell it.

Hookers must be expensive in your area if you have to wait until your car is paid off to get one.

I have thought about this but yes plans change often. With the money I've been putting into mine and still not being close to what I want, I still see myself looking into different cars unless I part out and prioritize FI.

Bought it used, will keep for a long time (still have my EJ207 swapped bugeye too) and build it into my vision of an STI.

I took out a 5yr loan and paid it off 2.5yrs early last month. I'd like to keep driving it daily and tracking it, then sell it next spring and get a 09+ Cayman S.

I paid my car off with cash as soon as I bought it. I plan on keeping it until it dies catastrophically. If it's something I can fix I'll rip it apart and do it myself.
I'm currently saving up for a home and working on my life priorities since my cars are paid off. I'm only 24 with no debt. I'm not sure what to do with the income. I've modded my car to the extent I wanted it, but it like a good daily too. Maybe after the home I'll get an Lexus is f daily and maybe a project? Id like a e30 or a e36.

I think this thread would be more interesting if people designated their climate. Some of us would love to say "I'll keep it forever". But we know we're lying. In the midwest, all cars eventually go the big garage in the sky.

i have 1.25 years left and i'm thinking of taking out a car loan and getting an SUV for my 2nd (more practical) car. I'm thinking of an '08 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Edition in 6spd manual trim to be specific.

I'm 2 years into a 5 year loan on my FRS. I have every intent to keep it after the loan is paid off.

At some point though, likely before the 5 years are up, I might get a 2nd vehicle and it'll likely be either an SUV or Pickup because the FRS just ain't about carrying/moving stuff around.
