My earliest memory was waking up one day and jumping out of bed and running to my parents downstairs... I'd say I was about 4

I legitimately remember my mom and dad both potty training me. So weird thinking about being pulled up from both your ankles and having someone else wipe your ass. That and I even remember what the thing looked like. It was like a mini tub, it was blue plastic, and it had a white bucket that you shit in. They cleaned it every time. Poor bastards.

I remember a trip to the hospital for a surgery to fix being tongue-tied (it's a real medical thing, apparently). They clipped the bit of skin under my tongue that connects it to the bottom of my mouth. No clue how old I was.

Another memory is picking up the family dog. If I'm doing the math right, that dog was put down 9 years ago, and was 15 years old. I would've been 3 or 4 when we got her. This is probably the earliest.

The earliest memory I vividly recall was being at the mall when my grandma got paged to pick up a courtesy phone. We rushed home because my great grandma died. I played Super Mario Kart with my cousin while they dealt with it and wheeled her body out right behind us since we were in the living room.

I was 5.

I was not quite three and remember my father raking leaves, carrying the leaves to a garbage can and throwing them in there. It was a bright sunny day in south Florida and I was sitting on/riding a wooden toy locomotive sort of a wagon thingy. I can recall that the paper applique with the printed image of the locomotive was peeling off in places. Life was good! Then my little brother came along...

One of my first memories was at age 2, when my father (who I had never seen) came home from WWII.

My mother put me on the front porch of my grandparents farm house and my father, in uniform, drove up, rushed up and quickly swooped me up ..... my mother said I was scared and cried.

Now, about yesterday ....... what was the question ......??

I believe you. I distinctly remember standing at the window looking down at a train slowly passing directly below. When I first mentioned it to my mom she was blown away. We moved out of the second story of that Westchester duplex when I was about 6 months old
