TPMS initialization question.
Just wondering if the dealer has to dismount the tire from the wheel in order to initialize a new TPMS to your car, or if they can initialize it without having to take the tire off?

I believe they have to dismount them in order to get the code off the TPMS

I don't understand the question. Are these new wheels, new tires, and new TPMS that did not come with the vehicle? Do you already have the codes for the new TPMS?

Nope I am getting a new set of wheel's and ideally I would have liked to go to the dealer with the TPMS mounted to my new wheel's and have them initialize it without having to remove the tire off my wheel again.

You still aren't being clear in your responses. Are the TPMS SENSORS NEW? If they aren't, you shouldn't need to do anything at all.

TLDR You can only have 1 set programmed to the car at one time. Dismount is required to get code for program. There is no way to have summer and winter wheels both with TPMS that works just by swapping wheels, a dismount and trip to dealer is required. |
