Steve,
Got the first problem when i first connected the device to the car and it was in read mode, reading and copying the ecu.
Mode file not found. Cannot create a tuning file.

When I tried to connect my device to the computer, I got the second error in the open flash manager.
Unconfigured device. It cannot be used.

Any thoughts?

This is not a big problem just means the pre loaded oft tune database does not support your ROM calibration id, you just need to manually download tunes from the openflash downloads page and upload appropriate tune files with matching calid to oft with openflash manager software.

Unconfigured device. It cannot be used.

That message does not look good, did the oft read complete ok ?
If you connect tablet to car is the read icon now greyed out ?

Are you using correct openflash manager software ?

Its the first link on downloads page

http://www.openflashtablet.com/downloads/

OpenFlash Manager (v1.25.1) UPDATED 2/18/16 This application is used to upload, download new files to your OpenFlash Tablet. It is also used for updating templates files, downloading data log files and for erasing data.

don't use the Flash tablet manager software its for Ducati bikes only.

you might also need the latest template file
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...79&postcount=2

else call the openflash guy on phone they should be able to sort it out

I have gotten the "Unconfigured device. It cannot be used" error once.

I tried everything - updated everything, reinstalled like 20 times, tried every USB port, restarting computer. Tried on 3 different computers, Windows XP and Windows 7. Kept getting the error. I sent it to OpenFlash to be diagnosed. Of course, when they plugged it in, it connected fine. So I got it back, tested in a 4th computer - then it worked. I have no explanation. Just try another computer/USB port/restart computer. Just try everything, then go on to another computer if possible, family members', friends'.

Yes forgot

OFT don't like USB 3 ports (they usually have blue colour inside, make sure you use a usb 2 port if available (white colour usually)

Thanks guys,
I'm um using an old iMac running parallels with Windows Xp. Had to delete some files for a runtime error and re-download and install to get to this point. Jeez! I'll try another Windows computer first. Thanks again.

did you flash back you original tune to cat from OFT then totally erase OFT with open flash manager ? then re read origina tune.

Check its calid with OFT then load tunes of that calid.

I never flashed anything I had to get the tunes for B01D since mine is automatic trans. All that I was able to do was read the original onto OFT they it told me to contact OFP to get the correct tune. After that I plugged it into computer tried to upload tunes for B01D but it says "The file is not compliant" but that is the CAL I need. It doesn't make any sense. The only thing I can think of is the "stock" tune on my car now isn't really a completely stock tune. So it's not letting it marry properly. I don't know I am completely new to this and everything I know is from reading the forums and online.

nah unless you actually flashed a rom nothing has changed.

roms are not changed bit a a time, its totally erased then totally reflashed.

What calid does your oft show under ecu indo or diagnostics.

2013 cars could have been A00D/A01D/B00D or B01D their was lots of updates put out by manufacturer at that time

It says B01D but when I try to upload the tunes for B01D onto my OFT just says "The file is not compliant" so I can't do anything. I'm thinking whoever owned it before me may have had a tune installed and what's on it now is not a "stock" tune so it's all screwed up.

if you manually load tunes it should not matter if its still got ecutek licience info in ecu.

if the read icon is greyed out oft has read in your rom.

you should be able to use openflash manager to see the rom in the slot called original file, then you could download rom and send it to openflash guys.

assuming it will connect to computer.

if the read icon is still brightly coloured when oft connected to car its not read in stock rom

*update*
I erased all data and started from beginning and still getting file is not compliant. Not sure what's wrong still waiting for Shiv to get back with me. In mean time might see if I get it flashed at dealership if that don't fix it.

Quick question:

Does clearing engine codes with the OFT reset fuel trims?

When I left for work today, the car gave me CEL and airbag light after a few meters. So I stopped - checked the code (U0073 - CAN COMMUNICATION BUS A OFF) - reset it. Thereafter I turned off the car, reconnected OFT and everything was normal again.

However my LTFT was 0% most of the 30 minute drive to work, which seems to good to be true. It did however vary a bit, mostly at idle with 0.78%. I've just passed 100 km since last flash...
