although tunes dont "go bad" there are newer tweaks and developments that you will only benefit from by flashing to the newest tune...
If you're using the OFS tunes, I would definitely switch to the newer version of the tunes(theres no reason not to) But I totally understand the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mindset. |

Okay. After 7 months of running the same tune, I decided to just flash the same tune, just minus the launch control.
God, the learning process of it takes a looong time. and I hate how sluggish the car is. Before anyone is going to tell me the wrong stuff I am doing and with my comments below. NOTE: I am letting the tune learn properly by driving constant and easy. I have only driven the tune 19 miles so I got far ways to go. There are itty bits that I already hate. The throttle response is just bad and I don't get the same feeling of torque I get from 3k to 4k at 6th gear when over taking someone in the freeway. (Foot is not down to the floor, just gradual increase.) And the worst of all: The constant fear and monitoring my Adv Mult, KC Learn, FLKC, STFT, LTFT, and AFR to make sure I am running okay is brutal. I am flashing again this weekend when I get my UEL installed, I guess its good I am re-experiencing it now than later. Just a rant. Nothing really bad here. Any comments or if anyone has a tip, that would be awesome. |

Also it's well documented that the exhaust cam isn't always active and this can also impact performance and perceived feel.

Am I missing something...
Besides not having launch control - why would you reflash/retune a tuned car. It's software right, so surely once it's flashed - then you just enjoy the driving and only need a retune or reflash if you want to change something or you install something (like and exhaust) and want to optimise the benefits of the mod. ?

I got tired of it cause I cannot rev pass 3.8k (where I set it) when I am sitting still. There was days where I was being a kid and wanted to rev pass it standing still but cannot do it. Also I do not use launch control (will do when I get my UEL) I relfashed the same tune with the Launch Control Disabled. That is the only way to do it. This is OFT not ECUtek. So since I reflash it, it has to relearn all the parameters. I ran to work today and it feels a lot better. Not 100% like before but better. |

Other than to change something there is no reason to reflash. And ecutek has the same learning period after a flash. That's the ecu relearning pedal position and such. I suppose stand alones probably don't have that but all modern ecus do

ECUTek have a 4 map slot, I believe. So they can have same tune in two Rom Slots with and without Launch Control. and can be switch on the fly.

I still don't know why the clutch position isn't taken into account with it yet. Plus, try dialing in rpm for launch control on oft. I literally would make 5 tunes for my car, with various RPM launch points and would have to flash, launch, launch, remember wheel spin/how good the launch was and reflash again to change the rpm. With Ecutek, you enable launch control and tap the cruise control stick up/down to raise/lower launch rpm. |
