Garage
60 this year.
Used to hang out with the sportcar gearheads when I was in school.
TR3-4-6, Sunbeam Tiger, MGA, MGB, MKII Jag, Alfa Giulia Spider, Renault Dauphine,
SL190, 510, Bugeye Sprite, AH3k, Abarth Fiat, Alfa C6 2600 ... and other stuff.
Had to work on them a lot. Such bailing wire involved. So wow.

Owned an Alfa GTV 2000 for 7 years, so got that out of my system.
Never saw the value in straight line barges.

Don't recall anyone in high school with a VW. Weird now that I think about it.

The FR-S fits so nicely with the way I like to go motoring.

pre-edit: the site just told me I couldn't post this and I had to log in again.
Didn't think I was that damn slow. Know better now.

55, I come from motorcycles, much easier to work on. Never had a sports car before.
I found out autoX is lots of fun. Such a fun car.

55, and have owned the entire gamut except the Lincoln/Cadillac American Luxury boat line (no interest) and the close-to-six-figure european offerings. Sports cars? Well... two Fiat Spiders, a '92 Celica, and now the FR-S. All semi-sports cars, really (especially the FWD Sillycar, but we still enjoyed it), but a lot of fun. Favorites? In the family truckster category, our '92 Aerostar was unstoppable, comfortable, and RWD. Got 235k carefree miles out of it. Honorable mention to the Plymouth (Mitsubishi) Colt Vista in this category; the original mini-micro-van. In the "Man, this car is just AWESOME" category, a '93 Range Rover County LWB. Hands down the most bad-road/bad-weather-condition-capable vehicle I've ever been in (still shopping for my first Unimog), coolest thing to cruise in ever. Favorite Rover story.. I was parked at some seafood shack down in the Outer Banks, NC, years ago when two surfer dudes came out, saw my car, and one said to the other, "what the hell is that ugly thing?" and the other one said, and I quote, "That, my friend, is a Range Rover County... one of the most intense vehicles ever made." "Fun to drive" category? Fiat Spider, hands down. Handled much like our FR-S, felt even lighter, you could put the top down, and the sound of that double overhead cam engine was gorgeous.. when it ran. Sigh.

Best compromise car, i.e., best handling, most reliable, practical, sporty, efficient, and just an all around GREAT car? '93 BMW e36 325i.

Oh.. and... DINOSAUR!?!? Get real. I'm just getting started, peanut.

Love ya,

Barry

I am 64, and owned old British Sports Cars (1961 TR3, 1967 Triumph 2000, 1975 TR7), original Mazda RX2 (blown seals, warped housings!), 1977 Scirocco, 1984 GTI, a beautifully restored 1955 Chevy Pickup hot rod, and now my 2015 Ultramarine FR-S with TRD intake/exh, and a few other bolt ons. In 18 months, I have put 21000 miles on, 11,000 of which are on snow tires in two winters here in the greater Boston area.

Love this car and drive it every chance I get.

I'll be 64 at the end of the month... going on 17. BMW, Benz, couple Ghias, MGs. Got a little over 18,000 miles on the FRS and I don't think I've got even 500 miles of Hyway on it. The twisties are right out my front door.

Like the song says, "Hope I die before I get old."

Does 40 count?
While I may not be a lifetime sports car driver, I have always had smallish cars.
E28 528e
B5 A4 1.8T heavily modded
986 Boxster S
E30 325i nicely modded

It seems to me fun, simple cars are becoming harder to come by every year. I really appreciate the simpleness of the BRZ because of this. There's not a lot of technology forced upon the owner, which is nice. It allows the driver to be accountable for his/her own behavior.
