Thanks for posting - this was exactly what I was after.

For the benefits of the less patient - hard acceleration @11:55 or there abouts.

would you go for the coating or the heat tape for heat management? or would you go both for the best heat management?

Not going to lie, I think this sounds perfect. People that throw on full catbacks on NA cars along with headers made it way too loud IMO.

There's also a little bit of hard acceleration at 6:15ish.

I wanted to have a mix of hard and regular driving.

Took me forever to find this thread, but I FOUND IT. I don't know where to post my updates. I could make a "journal" but to be honest it would be boring because all I did was a headerback now lol.

GOODBYE STOCK CAT

Anyways, yeah I got the JDL Ultra Quiet front pipe thinking it would actually quiet down my setup....no it didn't.

If anything I think it made it louder LOL if not the same. The car sounds MEAN with the windows down(;

So yeah if you guys are running catless UELs like Gruppe-S with Invidia N1. Don't even bother buying the Ultra quiet front pipe, go with a resonated front pipe for best results.

Installation was also a little....challenging. I had no idea you had to lift the engine up JUST a little bit to get the stock over-pipe out, because it has a damn heat shield. Just a heads-up to anyone doing a full headerback.

But yeah the car drives amazing, it pulls a little better I wish I could say HELL YEAH IT PULLS!!!!
But I think I already had most of the gains from our bad ass headers and a tune.

Well, next up is a supercharger sometime in the future now(;

For someone that doesn't want to lift their engine, you can take off the heat shield on the overpipe with 3 nuts I believe. Then it just slides right out.

Just got this header installed. It sounds great with stock exhaust. Also, the torque dip is not noticeable anymore either. Even my girlfriend notices the extra torque

Gruppe-s UEL Header

Finally bit the Bullet on the Gruppe-s UEL header and over pipe. Received it last Friday. Box was a little damaged, but everything seems to be intact. Debated all weekend on wrapping or coating. Was going to go with Swaintech for coating, or the DEI for wrap.

Decided, possibly against my better judgement, to go with the DEI for a couple reasons; Mainly I'm like a kid in a candy store right now and want the immediate satisfaction of installing, save about $230, stumbled upon a Corsa Cat-Back exhaust for $450, so got that instead of coating.

I'll post pictures of the wrap job when I'm done (first time so we will see how it goes) but for now here's some "arrival" pics.

The thing really is gorgeous.

That header looks identical in every way to my Tomei Expreme UEL header. The merge collecter, the flanges, the weld points, the connecting bars on the longer primaries, and everything. Check it out in Google images, they are the same in every way. I bet they are made by the same factory. I left mine unwrapped, because it's winter, but come summer I will probably wrap it with that volcanic glass stuff. I've used it before and it only smells for the first week or so, and only smokes the first day.

Any one have install instructions? Mine didn't come with any. I'm figuring it out as I go... But a reference point would be nice! Lol
