Code U0073
Hey guys,
I bought my 2013 FRS MT used from my local Toyota Dealership late December, so I've had my car a couple months now. Had 17k miles when I bought it, currently has 19 and change. About 4 days ago I brought it in to have my clutch looked at because it was producing some pretty chunky shifting. They kinda gave me a hard time initially so I asked to speak with a manager. I told the manage the problem, and asked if they could sway out the tranny fluid as a lot of FRS/BRZs are having this problem due to dirty tranny oil. To no avail, I left the dealership and went home. Later that night, I went out for a drive and my tire pressure light came on. I got new snow tires put on 2 weeks ago (I live in MA), so I figured it had something to do with that. Checked pressure, that was good (including the spare in the trunk). The next morning my ABS light and Traction Control light came on (the car with the skid marks), as well as the tire pressure light. They've been coming and going, but always come on after about 5 minutes of driving, sometimes sooner. Today all three came on, including my check engine light so I stopped at Auto Zone and had them scan it. I got U0073: Control Module Communication Bus "A" Off The only mods done to my car is a TRD exhuast which was on when I bought the car. It has no tunes. I scheduled an appointment with Toyota for Wednesday, but till then I'll be freaking out. |

I had this a while back, but it was related to my Bluetooth OBD2 scanner. Do you have anything you keep plugged in to your OBD port?

I do. I have the progressive snapshot plugged in. Plugged it in about a week ago. I tried to remove it, still getting the lights.

Now that you have unplugged that thing, you may consider disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes ..... to let the ECU re-set.
But, still take it in to the dealer. humfrz |
