Got ECU fault code U0073. Need help!
I just went to a local inspection station yesterday. They told me I got a ECU fault code U0073 cause the computer can not connect to the car. I don't know the reason. After I restart my car I only got CEL on.
Before I went to the inspection station, I flash back to the original file to the car, I'm OFT user. Electronical mod list: Backup camera Third break light (between two exhaust tips) |

Clear the code. Don't plug the OFT in while the car is running.

1) Do you have an extension cable attached to your OBD2 port? Lots of people use them with OFT to help it reach a mounting point. Some of these cables can result in connectivity issues for various computers (missing pins, etc.), but not necessarily the OFT. If you have one, remove it and see it that fixes the problem. 2) Make sure you are connecting and disconnecting the OFT while the car is in the "off" state. Sometimes if you connect or disconnect OFT while the car is in either the electrical "on" state or the engine is running, it can cause connectivity issues. To be honest with you, I often disconnect OFT while the car engine is running and have never run into an issue (throwing a code or connection issue), but others have reported issues and it is worthwhile to follow OpenFlash's OFT connection instructions to the letter. 3) When you cleared the code, did the CEL light turn off? If the light is still illuminated, it could be a) the computer is taking its sweet time to recognize the code deletion - this will resolve with a few miles of driving, or b) something about your OFT-OBD2 connection is faulting even after you cleared the code, causing it to remain tripped. This could be due to an extension cable, as I mentioned above, or could indicate something more sinister (e.g. damaged pins in the OBD2 connector, remember, the twins' OBD2 connector is beyond flimsy). |
