1 + 1 option ( 86 + SUV or people mover)
hi everyone,
i finally had a chance to see a 86 in metal. am just loving it. But.... its a bit smaller than i thought. I was thinking 86 shouldn't have problem to fit a baby seat & tiny pram in. (yea...i know im a bit silly to do that) My initial plan was to stick with one car. After the visit, I can say it has to be a 1 + 1 package for my situation (if i really buy a 86). The price of 86 itself is real affordable as what Toyota promised. Unfortunately, applying to my situation, its kinda unaffordable now coz the cost will be sth like 39.5k for a GTS plus another 10-20k for a whatever 4-door car. I wonder if am the only silly person in the world. If not, what are your options ? OR just give up to buy a 86 is the only option ?

Nothing silly about that, im throwing in the booster seat the first day and going for a cruise with my boy aniken. Forward baby seat will fit, maybe rearward too( front passenger will be glued to the windscreen. Chances are if you get the 86 early and it doesnt work out for you may be able to sell it for a profit in the next few months. Thats if u can even get it early. Buy a runaround from the auctions for the mrs, thats what i did. My wife has already scratched the aurion plenty of times, would never buy her a new car. Just something new enough with all the safety features. If the gts is too much get a gt for 5.5k less, same car without the bells and whistles |

Hi Samsung,
I'm in a similar position to you, however i'm yet to see an 86 so i'd appreciate your advice. My wife has a Commodore sportswagon, so 99% of the time our kids are in that. But occassionally i need to carry one or maybe two of our children. I was under the impression a child seat could be put into the back of an 86, it has anchor points. Given i only occassaionly have one of our in the car i thought it wouldn't be problem. From your viewing of the car do you think it is? I ask as i might want to put an order in before seeing an 86 in the flesh. |

Surprisingly you can fit 4 adults in the car (I tried it out this weekend). I was in the driver's seat and had the seat up so that it didn't crush my friend's legs but I still would have had enough space to drive an auto (a manual would be a bit more difficult with that little space). So you can fit 4 adults but there isn't much space to move - hence why they call it a 2 + 2 coupe.

really? (no offense :happy0180:. ) am abt 5"9. After adjusting my right driving position, i found that there's only abt 10cm leg room at the back. |

Tip with the pram Samsung.
I had a Mini Cooper a few years ago. I bought a Phil and Teds especially for it. They fold up smaller than most prams and the wheels come off easily. They are brilliant prams and i'd think if they fit in a Mini they'd fit in an 86. The mini boot is tiny. |

I'm also 5"9 and like I said I had the seat up so my friend behind had enough space. In my normal driving position no one can fit in the back.
