Funny; this is nowhere near close to being jumped on, and I've already seen my fair share of noobs getting razzed for asking a common question and sometimes even worse, and I don't really see anything about a search emoticon being hostile. If you find an emoticon hostile, then you really need to reevaluate yourself. All the information OP needed to know is there; it takes only a quick search or in this case a trip to this thread:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96158

Yes, he asked a legitimate question... that has been already posted countless times in the past and is already covered in a sticky. All these threads do at this point is create clutter and bump down any other threads that could otherwise have been useful for some members.

Sure, I can sympathize with newcomers too, including OP, but come on, a little effort into searching for the information he needed would have answered his question far faster than waiting for responses.

By the way, I've seen far more hostile automotive forums than this one. If you think FT86Club is the only automotive forum that tells noobs to search, then let me tell you something right now: it isn't.

First off, you seem a bit like a whiny baby. Maybe you should make a few posts in this thread and join in on the circle jerk of whining about whiners.

Second, there is a wealth of knowledge here which can be found with so little effort a child could do it. All it takes is a quick google search with whatever keywords you're trying to find ie "best header for scion frs/subaru brz" and the FIRST FUCKING HIT will be this site. But instead of doing that, too many people want to be spoon fed their answers.

If you are planning to get OFT, get catless header. That way you get more performance + few hundred bucks still in your wallet.

As steve99 said, OFT OTS tune is not optimized for ft86sf catted header.
Stock header outperforms catted uel with OTS stg1 tune.
I ended up switching to catless UEL from ft86sf header.

For those of us who actually have commitments its hard knowing exactly what to search on a public forum when unlike some people....you...we don't spend all day posting almost 2000 posts. I had previously searched and did not find a definite answer to what I wanted so that is why I posted for HELP. SO please find something else to do with your time instead of spending all day on a public forum.

Now I am looking at the Open Flash Header & Open Flash Tuner Device. Seems like a good deal, with great performance. Labor is a b**** though

Installing a header isn't too tough if the header bolts on the original, and O2 sensors aren't frozen on. Total time about 1.5 - 2 hours going slow. Hand tools, jack and jack stands are all that's really needed. Also make sure you have some anti-seize around when you install the O2 sensors into the new header. There are DIYs in the forum. Saves a couple hundred bucks in labor.

Danville is a bit of a hike, we make that trip to VIR a couple times a year.

Simple answer to your question, the header is what makes the power on the twins. Over pipe, front pipe, exhaust can help the power drop off but the NA power is made on a quality header design and tune. The last Ptuning header we installed and tune we hit 208whp on 93 octane with no other mods, tuned here on EcuTek. Our header is a 4-1 equal length so it makes more power over an unequal length, but you lose most of the rumble sound. In the end you have to pick on how much power you want to make and at what price.

So you're telling me that you couldn't find your answer within only five to ten minutes of searching and just browsing the forums? No, I don't buy it.

My advice to you at this point is to browse the forums some more, and relax. I've done nothing to attack you personally.

here you go http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/inter...-read-faq.html

after surviving that, this place is a all unicorns and rainbows. but really the more threads people make the harder it becomes to search for the correct information later.

whose smart idea was to use a black background and white text... lol god damn my eyes

and to be fair, the stuff the OP asked about could easily be searched within 10 minutes. just use google and tag in ft86club in the terms and not search through the actual forum. it's easier that way, but the OP might not have known

EDIT: as for advice for headers, first of all check with your local emission laws and prepare yourself for the worst case scenario. I believe headers are an illegal modification in all 50 states, but don't quote me on that. if you are looking for a cheap header, I saw a tsudo header going for around $300 in the for sale section. it's cheap and will give you that rumble you want. personally, after much research, I am planning on going with a gruppe-s header. it's from the same factory as the tomei with just a slightly different design but same quality. it's more expensive than the tusdo at around $500, but IMO it is worth it.

as for tuning, I have an OFT right now and the OTS tunes are good enough. I plan to go to ecutek later on with flex fuel, but the OFT gives you almost everything ecutek has for cheaper after factoring in the ecutek cable, tune, and license. you can also sell the OFT later on down the road for almost the same price as you bought it for (if you bought it used). they keep their value. just make sure you unmarry it from your car first.
