I'm actually headed to the shop in about an hour and a half to go pick it up. I have an appointment at work first, though.

Trust Automotive in Chesapeake, VA. They've put together pretty much the entire car. Props. Anyone looking for a no BS build, contact them.

The car is back home and it's running very well. The video I had, had too much edited out so I'll have to make another one without me talking or giggling like a man-child.

Also, would the Adapter+350Z transmission line up the same as a V160 you figure?

You should be able to get the cd009 trans to fit. It is a tight fit with the v160 and the cd009 is a bit bigger. Some sheet metal adjustment may be require. As well the shifter set up will require a modification to make it short enough. It will be very tight. Next up is the Emtron KV8 install. I do not know who is more excited for that, slicktop or me.

Ross is definitely the one to pay attention to. He's one of very few with extensive knowledge and experience with the 2JZ/FT86 swap.

Additionally, yes, the car is getting an Emtron KV8 instead of the Motec M150. Should be a good fit to my needs at a lesser cost than the Motec. Hope to have the car back out a few weeks from now as we're about to have a blizzard come through the Mid Atlantic.

Vids will come soon after. I've been in contact with some video/photographers to do some professional work. Additionally, I'll be attending Hot Import Nights in Atlanta this year (provided work doesn't get in the way!) so there will be plenty of coverage of the car this year.

Thank you for the info Ross, what transmission fits the best in your opinion?

We only used the v160 on slicktops car. I just happened to have a v160 and a cd009 sitting on the floor, one from a supra build and the other from a g35 build we are doing. So I took some measurements. I feel the v160 fits well but they are becoming to expensive for what they are sense Toyota has stopped production of them. I would like to get my hands on an ar5 to look over the shifter assembly. See what would need to be done to make that work. As those are relatively cheap and just swap a bell housing to mate to the engine.

I think Omar used a R154 in his as per the IS300 rear end he put in, can you comment on the shifter location for those - in comparison?

I have started my pricing list (see att), it pains me here in Canada with the 1.49CAD->USD exchange right now, but I'm looking to be ready for a swap whenever all your shale oil companies go bankrupt lol.

I haven't, but I estimate it being about 3,000lbs.

Emtron EMS just came in last night. Looking forward to the new EMS setup. If it all works out, it'll open up a lot of swaps as a direct competitor to MoTeC in regards to CAN functionality at a much less expensive option.
