After they have done that your going to need to flash your turbo tune into ecu.

Im assuming its ecutek , if so your going to need and ecutek cable/dongle to flash the tune.

also you cannot flash an ecutek tune to an ecu that does not have an ecutek licience.

your either going to have to buy a new ecutek licience or talk to your tuner/ecutek about proceedure to transfer your licience to new ecu.
I have the cable. And dongle. So would I be able to take the new ecm to the dealer to do that security system process you're describing before installing it in my car? Or must it be installed first?

I believe the dealer will need to install new ecu. my understanding is car wont start if you swap out ecu as the security coding needs to be re-done, its to prevent people stealing cars.

If ecu has ecutek tune in it it may prevent dealer from accessing ECU and hence he may not be able to security code system

you can i believe swap out all 4 components in the security set ie dash/ecu/imobiliser and key fobs from a donour car, but if you change any of those components by themselves they need to be coded in.

Wow. What a head ache. So the ecu must be plugged in the car, and then get decoded from the dealer. Fml

Yes im pretty sure the new ecu has to be plugged into car then dealer does the re-coding of security system with new ecu in place.

Probably best to talk to dealer to confirm.

I've also ordered a cam position sensor. What threw me off was that the Mitsubishi logo was on the sensor I bought from the dealer..... It is quite confusing to me. Have you ever seen the cam position sensors?

I've changed the cam position sensor on bank 2, reset the battery, and reprogrammed my tune onto my car. My vvti intake odc were nearly identical on 73-76. Is that normal? I am running an avo turbo. I've only driven it for 10miles< so I'm going to drive it a couple more miles and see if the problem still persists. I already ordered the ecm just in case. Hopefully it is just the sensor

Code still persists. I think it is a bug in the ecu

bummer

that cam code loks like a hard one to track down when its intermittent
have a look at the Tech service bullitens it can be

position sensor
sensor shimming/clearance
oil control valve
actual cam sprocket/actuator
or the ECU rom revision if earlier than B01C/D
or the ecu hardware

their is a long test proceedure to follow to try to isolate exact cause

But did you monitor how well the cams correspond with each other? I've been monitoring how the intake valves were corresponding with each other

fortunatly i have not had the problem so have not looked that deep into logging cam actuators.

My guess would be if you see a large difference between intake or exhaust cams between the two banks then something is wrong. The big problem seems to be working out which component is at fault. The TSB has a complete proceedure to follow.
