It is, but if you have the money available in case something does happen, it's generally a lot less expensive in the long run to have a high deductible versus paying hundreds more every year for a lower deductible. And money in your pocket today is always worth more.
Note that people who are just bad at driving probably shouldn't bother with a high deductible. |

Was quoted by Progressive at $787/6 months ($131/month) for the BRZ and an 09 Elantra. Switching from an 02 RSX to the BRZ only added $12 for the entire policy.
27/Single/Graduate/Clean record. |

I had in my insurance me, 28 yrs, my wife, 32 yrs, no accidents and no points, a 2007 Ford Escape, a 2010 Toyota Corolla. That rang us $905 every six months. When I removed the Corolla and added the BRZ, my insurance went up a grand total of $3 for the six months so now $908. So in a sense, A BRZ is just about the same as a Corolla... LOL not really....
I was amazed at the small increase. Company is Geico |

If you're gonna get something, try Wawanesa. It's the cheapest, and our insurance guy at my internship who works for Primerica tried to sign me up for insurance and asked what I had, and when I told him I had Wawanesa, he said "Woah, that's gonna be tough to beat..." They have a tough process though, as they require you to apply first and wait for like 2 weeks for approval. Otherwise, Allstate or State Farm has reasonable pricing.

^ From what I've heard, Allstate is a tad difficult to work with in some respects.

$895 every 6 months through geico in Indiana:
'13 BRZ full coverage $500 deducts on collision and comp, '06 STi full coverage $500 deducts on collision and comp, '02 wrx with just comprehensive. Girlfriend just had an accident with her '04 wrx and geico was amazing! I would never switch after how well and how quickly everything was taken care of. |

Currently 29 years old (30 soon), single, homeowner, masters degree, using allstate with multiple policy (motorcycle, and car), $1,000 deductible collision, $100 deductible comprehensive, 100k/300k coverage bodily injury, 50k property dmg & uninsured motorist, no accidents in the past 5 years and maybe 1 speeding ticket coming back from Indy.
Total $1300 per year in NJ... not that bad I suppose. Only went up $100/yr compared to my 04 TSX. |

I've never had it(no military in immediate family) but ran rental car offices for a few years and can tell you they are one of the easiest and most helpful insurance companies for their customers. USAA in general is a great organization.

Im in the market for a new BRZ so i checked with my insurance agent who goes through commerce
2013 BRZ Limited $2051/year (12 months of payments at $~170) Leominster, MA 20 years old $1000 collision deductible $500 comprehensive deductible Free glass Rental 1 ticket for a california roll through a stop sign when delivery pizza's a couple years ago  But IMHO that's not fricken bad at all! Now instead of a 5 or 6 year loan, i can afford a 48 month term. Super psyched! Now.... just got to get rid of my 06 Spec b and my Kawasaki Ninja :p |
