I bought Autoglym Trim Gel and applied it on mines. No rubbing or lifting of the seal strip ever since then. Been over 1.5 years now.

I do not know if this stuff works once the problem starts , but I have been using this from the start with no gasket issues. Others have posted good results too:

This has been happening since 2012 including myself. I got it replaced under warranty. If you leave it alone, it will get worse. I don't know how much of a help it will be to put some kind of grease since the rubber piece is already deformed. For mine, I had to get out of the driver seat, go around to the passenger seat, close the door while holding the weather strip, then finally get out of the passenger seat. Otherwise, the window wouldn't close properly.

My warranty is out too now and if this happens again (or the passenger side), I would like to do it myself. So, I'm interested in DIY too.

Spit on it
Then put a hello kitty band aid on the seal

Aside from using the Gummi liquid, I also ran regular black weather stripping behind the gasket to give it a thicker and more durable feel. This helps keep the gasket in place with less "play" when the window closes over it.

Here's a clip I took a while back when I was working on a DIY for window alignment. Compare the height of the indexing to your own. I don't know the vin for the production change but I bet everyone with this issue has an early 13 without the updates applied.
