Congratulations on getting the GT86!
Subscribed to see what you do with it.

A comment to earlier posts in this thread.
The kind of person who buys a new Mustang in Norway is at least two of the following:

1. Complete moron.
2. Americana worshipper with confederate flag tattoos, leather cowboy hat and spurs on his boots.
3. Ford enthusiast with more money than sense.

This because a base 2015 Mustang starts at $88k retail here.
Most of that is taxes (displacement, weight, hp, emissions etc. where the Mustang scores high on everything).
Which makes value for money extremely low on that particular car.
It also makes it very exotic and a very popular exhibit at car shows.

From what I've seen, this pattern goes for most of western Europe.

For my part, I've always liked the Mustang look.
I even secretly dreamed of owning one, until I rented one in California. Deeply disappointed I went home and bought a GT86. End of story.

I guess the 2015 Mustang will change things a bit. We start seeing some. But the CO2 taxe is really bad.
Same taxe that ruined the 86 in France.

I have seen some exotic RAM 1500 lately

Yeah, people can pay 80 000€ for a base pickup :x

I brushed through you thread, I am surprised you didn't consider the Öhlins coilovers. European and top notch quality, I couldn't be happier with mine.

See you at Beuvardes one of these days... Although I am not going there as often as I used to as they're less and less tolerant to "drifting".

Hi mate.

Ohlins R&T are not exactly track suspensions, and I'm a bit afraid of the higher end stuff price.

I may contact them.

You plan to go Ohlins R&T or some track suspension?
What is this discount you speak of?

JRZ Nederland offers me 15% on list price because they don't want me to go Nitron.

Nitron offers me 10% as a returning customer and 5% more if I buy another set for a friend.

Even with 20% the price from USA will be crazy.

I sent a mail to Ohlins France and I had the shit answer you can expect from a french company.

They only sell the R&T for the 86.

Not a word on anything else, not even tried to redirect me to Ohlins Sweden.

I won't waste my time with Ohlins anymore.

I just ordered a set of ad08r, Motul 300v 5w30 and rbf 660.

I started weight reduction with cup holder, rear floor mats and owner's manual

I need to look at the rear wing delete procedure.

Step 1: firmly grab the spoiler with both hands.

Step 2: vigorously yank and jerk on it until it eventually is not considered part of the car anymore.

Step 3: ?

Step 4: profit.

I like this way

I don't like the holes it leaves very much.
All the fake stuff on cars just piss me off.
At least this wing is not as much an airbrake as the Lotus one.
But it's non functional AND ugly. Nice combo.

Are you planning on adding aero at some point? If not then the best option for covering the holes from the OEM spoiler is the TRD duckbill spoiler.

It is MUCH better looking than the OEM.

Not as a first step. But in the end I might use a Voltex wing.

I'll have a look at the TRD spoiler, thx.

I agree with you. OEM wing is ugly, it ruins the car design flow and not of much aero-help.

There are many wingless trunks in the US. Import a used one from there, or order a new one from Japan. Issue is that there were not wingless trunk trims in Europe. At least I am not aware of any. If you want to go lightweight, there are also carbon trunks. Check here an example. It looks to fit well:

Of course, as already mentioned the cheaper solution is to cover the holes with another spoiler.
