Lotus gearbox feel is really bad. It's highly inaccurate. Locking feel is average. It's slow.

The 86 is very accurate. Locking feel is nice and it's fast. There is a slightly grainy feel which makes it not perfect. Dunno if it means something.

My last track day, I hauled all of my tools, clothes for the weekend, helmet, 4 of my track wheels with tires on them, and 4 of my friend's track wheels with tires on them for his Miata.

...All inside my car. Yeah, it's gutted, but definitely couldn't get anywhere close to that level of grocery-getting with an Exige.

That's exactly why I bought the 86.

The Lotus only 2 real advantages are steering feel and parts cost. (And turn key fast, if you count that)

I still want an S240 or 260 more than any other car though. Well, except a 3-Eleven. But who's going to count that, amirite?

The best option is to start with a 192hp NA car and supercharged it with the BOE TVS kit.
It will do 300hp without intercooler, or 400 with intercooler. (Both track ready without heat soak)

3-Eleven is amazing.
I was a passenger in a 2-Eleven, I puked inside my helmet in lap 2 :p

Edit: and puked again driving my car after that.

I recently discovered that the 86 has a telescoping steering wheel (adjust lever and pull steering wheel toward you). Give that a try if you haven't already. Night and day difference for me.

Yep, I used that. I still miss like an inch of travel. But that's probably because I use my seat slightly more inclined than most.

Finally! Congratulations Maxime, i'm eager to see the result of all your planed mods.

Have you decided on the suspension already? I am curious about the Nitron's but i don't think i'll be able to wait for the results...hehe. I'm ordering some Öhlins next month.

I will go JRZ RS Pro Sport. They offer a discount that make it the same price as Nitron.

I will need a bit of time, as I'm a bit short on money.

You plan to go Ohlins R&T or some track suspension?

I haven't seen much about those JRZ, but it seems like a hell of a kit as well.

I'll go for the R&T, i got a really good price and the GT86 is my DD, so a single-adjustable suspension is enough for now.
Nitron's R1 was my other option but it would cost me over 50% more than Öhlins.

For a DD, Ohlins R&T is a good choice with competitive pricing.
