Meaty tires suggestions for 17x8 35?

I'm new to aftermarket tires so I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

I really like the meaty tire look.
Right now I'm running 225/45/17 on my 17x8 35. They aren't meaty enough for me even though they're a bit larger than stock.

I'd like to get the meatiest without rubbing on stock suspension and without lowering (will lower maybe later if I'm still not happy) because I don't want to lower it unless it's a last resort.

Any suggestions and pictures?

245/40-17 Look up specs on tire manufacturers website on what size rim they recommend and the width ranges. Also go under the car and inspect if you have room for approximately 10mm inside and 10mm outside for clearance. You should be fine.

I've had 245/40 on that spec RPF1 and it clears with no issue at stock height and lowered 20mm, although stock height it looks a tad pokey.

Your only problem will be steering feel as it will get sloppy since the wheel is so much narrower than the tire. I was getting more understeer at the limits.

Thanks. This is the setup I may go with then. If it's noticeable poke that bothers me I'll go with TRD Springs or RCE Yellows for a slight drop.

I don't think I'll be taking it to the limits, just daily driving and more for appearance. Think I'll get a different set of wheels for autocross or autox when I try to

The TRD springs lower slightly more than the race springs. I would say the TRD springs were about a 30mm drop. Depending on the tire too, the tire itself may run wider. For SCCA I have seen 255/40 Dunlop direzzas zii on a 17x8 et35. Those tires tend to run a bit wider, and also had about 1.5 of camber to get the wheel to tilt in a bit.
