As stated before, the BRZ is in the ICBC system, the FR-S isn't.

Checked yesterday with ICBC and the FRS is in the system under Toyota Scion FR-S. It is similar if not identical rate to the BRZ. Seems like ICBC rates vehicles by weight as the major factor. Good news, as Im scaping every penny in my budget to make this car work. 3rd on the list at Regency, and still waiting for a call from the dealer..

Anyone know if theres anyway I can negotiate with my insurance company on rates?
I'm getting quoted almost 800 a month on the FRS... I can't afford that as a full time student tbh... Edit: I'm on facility insurance lol :/ |

There is no negotiating. Whatever quite you get, that's the best rate they will offer you. If anything when you sign on and if they find out addtional info, they can increase your rate or drop you outright. Best you can do is shop around or hold off on getting car like the FR-S and drive something A LOT cheaper to build up some insurance history. Oh, and don't get any speeding tickets or make any claims. It's a crappy rigged game that we are all at the mercy of. Whoa just noticed you updated that you're on facility? You're screwed. The next step is nobody will insure you so you can't (legally) drive. Begs the question, what did you do to place yourself on facility?

Ask around. Go under your parents policy if you can, cheaper that way. |

Pretty sure your parents won't want you on their policy cause it will push their rates up too. Especially if you're currently facility, their insurance may not even take you.

Hey,
i'm 25 yrs old with a fault accident in 2010. picking up my FRS this friday june 8th. Got multiple quotes (wawanesa, industriel alliance, belair) at 2300$ / year. But La Capitale gave me a 1128$ / year quote. full insurance (2 million, 500, 200). Guess who i went with! Cheers! H. |

So I got my quote.
Under my fathers Policy; I have only 1 minor rear-end accident (No Points/Wreckless) $345/mo - BRZ '13 $385/mo - FRST '13 $387/mo - STi '12 $388/mo - 370z '12 Lol, I like the BRZ-> FRS price jump. Yeah, still debating on my car, might just get a company car instead :\ I'm 22. Forgot to mention it covers my 06 forester ontop. Last edited by BioRage; 06-07-2012 at 10:51 PM. |

Jump on that! If you were in the GTA that would be easily more than double with those particulars.
