If the FR-S/BRZ came with a turbo, the engine would last 400k easy!

They will last until they are broken and not one minute longer!

Some would say that the FA20 would give you more BANG! per buck. Just ask Visocnti.

Wait, we've only been sampling the neglected ones?

So you want an LFA? haha actually that would be pretty awesome. Just imagine that exhaust tone?!

Actually, that happened to me with high HP boosted FA20s.

honestly, its the combination of the two.

Its like if you drag your feet sideways on the street, the side of your shoes will get messed up. Exactly the same, but for the piston.

I wonder if its possible to open up the engine around 50k and remove the pistons/flip them around so the side that is normally on the bottom is now on the top. This would definitely increase engine life.

I know this is only around the 50k service, but if I had to do that every 50k or so, I'd be rather pissed.

You could probably do this every 75k or so and be fine still. Maybe do it once at 50k, again at 100k and then start at 75k intervals.

Even so, not many of us, myself included, have the technical know-how to remove and re-insert a piston. That means having to take the car into a dealer or shop, and if they screw up, kiss the engine bye bye.

That makes sense. Are you planning on a DIY?
