im pretty pessimistic though either way or either outcome, i loved the car but the extent of the damage is going to make it less than ideal for future trade in if repairable, however if considered a total loss then i have no extra money for a down payment or anything like that on another car and would have to deal with not only my lienholder's balance and payoff from the total loss but the negative equity and gap insurance. I expect that processing all that is a lengthy ordeal. I looked up the value of my car and it's around 23k from what ive seen, and if i am remembering correctly the repairs or whatever have to be 70-75% of the car's value meaning 16k-17k in repairs? I was also informed that if i am right below the threshold then they will try and repair. |

Small overlap frontal. Car did its job to protect you and glad that you walked away from it.
Logically it's better to hit square on, but we know natural instinct could take over.

That is one legit ms paint pixel art. The purple car is driving on the wrong lane, though. @steveholt, I would go to immediate care walk in. Most likely far less wait than emergency room and more tentative care. Tell them it's a vehicle-related accident and they'll work with your auto insurance instead of your health insurance. Your auto insurance will probably refer them to the other driver's insurance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

glad you're ok! I lost my first brz pretty much in the same situation as you and it was pretty devestating as well. Also under a year as well. :/
You're damage looks alot worse that mine so I'm sure it's totaled...the wheel and the suspension is completely gone! O.o Luckily our cars have great crash/impact test ratings so in retrospective, this car saved my freaking life. I was shocked when I came out without a scratch even though the front end looks mangled half to hell. Our cars are so light that the front end absorbs all the impact so even a small crash can cause alot of damage. The good thing is, the left turner is 95% at fault in these situations and you should get a nice big cheque from insurance close to full value since the car is less than a year old. Chances are you'll feel the pain/headaches a few days later when the adrenaline wears off. Just go to the emergency room and your car insurance will cover all post health expenses or the other driver's insurance since they are at fault. |

Oh wow! I certainly think it's totaled. I'm very sorry. I'm really glad you were okay though! That's a LOT of damage.
I have some tissues and chocolate (or beer) if you need a shoulder to cry on. |

Don't go to an ER, that is orders of magnitude more expensive than going to a regular primary care doctor and you'll probably end up waiting a long time to be seen with non-emergent injuries. An urgent care center is less $$ than an ER, but still more expensive than a PCP. Save the ER for true emergencies - such as if your migraine turns debilitating and won't go away. That way if your medical insurance/car insurance/other person's car insurance won't cover your visit you aren't out thousands of dollars.
Call your medical insurer and get a list of primary care physicians that are in your network near you. Find one that is convenient and give them a call to see if they can see you in the next day or two, if not, move to the next one on the list. This will be your cheapest out-of-pocket option, and will let you establish a relationship with a physician in case you need follow-up care in the future. If you go the ER and have something wrong you'll have to find a regular doc in the future anyway. Source: I work for an insurance company. Also, completely sucks about your car. I would definitely say totalled as well. |

Yeah didn't take into consideration the masses of the vehicle, if the other vehicle was heavier, it'd have more momentum because P(momentum) = Mass x Velocity. Which would of made you go the direction he was going, which is what you described going the opposite. Above all glad your okay, hope it all goes in favor for you and I hope in the end if totaled or not you stick with an frs/brz!
