Neither did I to be honest...hence the 0.8 bar run first, then multiple runs at 1 bar with similar (more even) outcomes.

I think weight and drive-train loss was against the STI, from a stand still it would have been a different result I'm sure..but who knows.

Doing the calcs, if the GT86 is making 170kw on the road and the STI is doing 210kw, power to weight is similar, so the result makes sense...but the fact that its a GT86 is what gets people.

Its been a while since I've updated this thread.

We have 2 AVO kits waiting to be installed in customers cars, one in CT and another in JHB - so will update once those builds are under way.

In the meantime, the original Phoenix Performance AVO Turbo GT86 is running FLAWLESSLY, the owner let me know last week that he has been driving the car everyday with no issues at all and that it puts a smile on his face each time. He also mentioned that tuning-wise the map feels super smooth, no drive-ability issues at all - all great to know and a prerequisite before moving on to more power. So with that out the way, we move on to the next step:

We will be fitting an Innovated Boost Controller and Wideband gauge, giving him both monitoring tools as well as "high"and "low" boost options depending on what fuel he is running.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1849048
@Innovate Motorsports

Low boost should still be at around the current 0.4 bar which is achieved on the road, equating to roughly 170kw, high boost is still to be determined, we will see how the stock clutch holds...

In the meantime, all I can say is what an awesome piece of kit!

After wiring the gauge in (OCD style ) finding suitable sources to tap into - we wanted to make sure all the expected functions were working as they should, such as the auto dimming when lights are turned on etc, routing all the cables and finding a suitable place to mount the solenoid, we fired it up without any issues.

The ability to cut boost based on an over boost condition or certain AFR threshold is reason enough for me to recommend this product to ANYONE that is running forced induction.

Will post a few pics later.

It is a lot of fun indeed! The torque just comes in SO quickly.

We have dropped the boost slightly on low boost since there will now be a "high boost" option and further refined the tune.

I will do for sure :-) Will hook the go pro up tonight

The Innovate gauge with this specific background is nice and understated. It goes with the whole (relatively) "sleeper" look of the clients car:

Gauge looks awesome tucked away there! looks like the P3 vent gauge for the 86. Owner must be having some real fun with this car!

Things have been pretty busy lately, but managed to pop out last night to do some logging and organised a "camera" car to try keep up and record the exhaust note.

The exhaust system consists of a full BRZ exhaust (stock overpipe) that the client had modified, all he did was take out the center box and weld a straight piece in, leaving only the back box in place.
It sounds pretty demonic if you ask me! Looking forward to hearing it on high boost!
