Everyone should care about Vtec because it was introduced in 1989 and paved the way for mass produced motors having many other variations and competing designs from other companies we see today.
shit s2k... lol i instantly retract SOME of that...

my point being this car is for the true feeling of driving... it sucks to see people arguing over civics on this forum... some ol' fart can mobiles to me... even though some are pretty cool and it is a great car in all honesty, i was just trying to prove a ****-headed point. lol forgive me.

I agree with you that Civic Si does not compare to the FRS other than in some performance numbers. The FRS is a different car altoghether just by the drivetrain layout. Just giving Honda some credit where it is due that is all.

Im hearing a bunch of praise for the Mazda 2...they call it front wheel drive NA Miata thats high praise indeed because the MX-5 certainly doesent live up to the NB and certainly not the NA's...but with a 100 hp on tap...would be rough in this era 9 years ago when i had my Miata not so much....

the na and nb are basically the same. while most people say the na is more lively, it is my experience that the nb retains all the feel but cuts out alot of the bad feel due to the floppy chassis and stuff like that. i do think you are pretty spot on with the 2...its a pretty neat car for being an econobox

Subaru dealerships are marking up the BRZ 5k more than MSRP. That makes it roughly around 31k and that's not including sales tax and other fees. IMO it is definitely not worth it. If a Civic Si was your second choice then I'm guessing 31k is too much. The FR-S is price reasonably though, I'd go for that. It looks much better too IMO.

Oh and about the 2013 civic Si, I know a guy that works at a Honda factory. He said he's not allowed to release info about it but the changes are not major.

I don't think the 2013 is going to do much for the Si. I had an 08 and I felt like it was the best year. I don't care for the 09+ honeycomb change and the 12 body change looks blah from the back. Front isn't bad though.

However, using the K24Z7 is vastly underwhelming. Sure, you get some more torque off the line, but the numbers are misleading because you're only going up to 7k rpm. So while you're shifting at 7k, the older models are still high in their band until 8.6k. It all washes out in the end. Not to mention you lose the fun of revving up that high. Then you have the new integrated exhaust manifold which makes doing performance mods a royal pain. In my opinion, the K20 Si's are still far superior to the 2012 model.

Coming from a tuned K20 Si, I still love the feel of the FR-S over it, and then it's also RWD. I've already had fun on a good few corners and needless say.. the car embarrasses me. I feel like it's saying "hah, is that all you got for me?! "
