Hey did you ever upgrade the bluetooth mic for this headunit? The standard mic is pretty bad for it.

From what I've read, Parrot brand mics are good and a lot of people use them so I'm going with one of them. This fix is not plug-n-play, unfortunately. The stock mic is wired to the bluetooth board so you basically need to remove that then solder the new mic leads to the board.

If you want to use other music player such as Power amp , and have the face panel button FF and FW to work.
The easiest way i found is to install this with out reprogram the keymap
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...cservice&hl=en
Yes, it say is for RK3066, but it work on my RK3188.

After you install go in and select your preference media player and your are good to go.

It will probably with with other player, i have only tried it on Poweramp.

Anyone reprogram the buttons? I'm using the Malask rooted ROM, installed mtc-keys-2.5.apk but I cannot find the mtc-keys.ini file to edit.

I believe you select that in the system settings using password 126.

Behind the radio to the right there is a metal surface, I put the GPS on that and reception is perfect. I haven't installed a external mic yet, that is going to be a project in the near future.

My understanding is that the head unit comes with an external mic does it have one in the front of the unit so you don't have to use the wired one?

As far as I know, the mic used for bluetooth/phone calls is built into the unit itself and is on the front of the unit (little hole) and doesn't support an external mic out of the box. People have disconnected the original mic and soldered leads to the bluetooth circuit board to make it use an external mic.

This could be a stupid question but here I go: The video in the op shows the equalizer and it doesn't seem like you can set it up that the stock speakers only play mids and Highs and leave all the low to aftermarket subwoofer. Can you do that on this HU?

Also, the attached picture shows the HU I bought comes with an external mic. Is this one the same HU in the OP and that has integrated mic in the front of it? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00XJ2IHHE
