You guys are being a bit rude. Looking at his old posts, they're not all idiotic.
The short answer is that there is no perfect amount of horsepower. The medium answer is MOAR! The long answer is that it depends on the car's setup and purpose. I'd be satisfied with a couple thousand.

There need be no limit to the amount of power that the engine can deliver. Remember that your foot controls the application of power.
So, build the drivetrain with as much power as you can afford and much like spices, dispense to taste. If you want a feel for what can be done with the FRS chassis and high torque swaps, look no further than the Miata V8 conversions. There are plenty around, and I can tell you from experience that they are amazing to drive in a way that no 4 cylinder Twin could ever hope to be. |
