I'm pretty sure the S stands for Small, and FR is Front-engine, RWD, just like the FR-S. Simple doesn't really make sense. The FR-S is already "simple"... but it's not this small/light.

Doubtful. It's going to be a low power 1.5L economy car with carefully tuned suspension similar to that of the FR-S. Read: even slower than the FR-S, but with fairly good dynamics.

Wonder what liter size it'll be for the S-FR. Hoping a 1.6L-1.8L around 180+hp & 130+torque.

If the 2015 Corolla has about 140hp on a 1.8L for good MPG, what's pushing a 1.8L to 40 more hp?

A FA20 2.0 would be exciting....but would much prefer as inline 4....dohc rawr.... resurrect the 4age! With more hp/torque though. MPG 24 city/34hwy manual would be amazing!

Weight on S-FR hoping about 2400 lbs for that size. Although mini cooper S were about 2600...hmmm

According to linked forum thread, specs have been revealed:

http://www.sfrforums...130-HP-2160-lbs)

Toyota 1.5L 2NR-FKE engine.

130hp and 2160 pounds.

HP is similar to the non-2.0L Miata in Japan & the rest of the world. If it comes here, perhaps it will get a 1.8 or 2.0L. I wouldn't expect anything over 175-180hp.

Remember, everyone: this is supposed to be more of an affordable, economy car than the FR-S. It will have less performance, not more. Don't get too excited.

I'm disappointed! Should be 180hp minimum! IMO

Thanks for info!

Well, that's probably for Japan only... Check the price though. VERY cheap.

If the S-FR weighed 2200lbs and had 160hp and 120lbf it would basically equal the FR-S in performance... no way they are going to let it outdo the FR-S. And I'll take an I4 motor any day over a boxer motor...

I'd like to someday drive a swapped 86 just to see how the change in the inertial properties affect the handling. I know body roll is not necessarily a bad thing but the chassis, as designed, is pretty magical.

There's significant spinning mass added to an I4 just to control the inherent shaking forces.

I agree the chassis with that boxer motor is pretty magical in handling...but it's a boxer motor, and I have not have good experiences with them in the past nor currently with the FA20 in my FR-S...

Honda I4's are magical motors... so an F22C in the 86 chassis should be a magical experience taken to the second level!

Honda has their shit down cold. That's for sure. FA20 is a bit of a princess but I'm committed to understanding it and doing what I can to keep mine solid. That includes building up a replacement from scratch and really getting into the oiling and valvetrain issues of my early engine.

sorry. [/offtopic]

I think it looks adorable, and honestly like the little spots of color on the interior. Really think scion could have made things pop more with just touches of color instead of all the black
