Door Ajar won't go off - HELP

Alright, I was driving and my dome light came on because it said a door was ajar. I know it's the driver side door because the window won't roll up all the way. Can't lock the car because a "door is open". Tried pressing the door close button on the body manually and nothing. Swapped it with the passenger side button and it's still showing the driver's side door is open.

Any ideas?!

So, when the door is open and you press in the button on the door jam, does the window move a little ... ??

Have you checked the positions #10, 24 & 36 fuses (box under the hood)...??

If I'm correctly reading the wiring diagram, the door ajar switches go straight to dedicated channels on the BCU. An open door pulls a logic signal to ground. Either that wire must be shorted to ground somewhere, or the fault lies in the BCU itself.

I don't know how long the battery must be disconnected before everything resets itself but maybe try disconnecting it for a few minutes and then see if that doesn't reset the BCU.

It's a long shot.
@steve99 posted a link to the wiring diagram in another post tonight. Check out page 268.

Id go to page 185 (or 268), front dooor switch signals BCU directly if dome light on and dash door indicator indicator on and window stuch down it looks like short to earth on G18 or H21 switch assembly or wiring.

remove offending switch assembly from door and disconnect see if light goes out if your lucky its just a stuffed door switch, then next best is short to earth in wiring and worst case is stuffed BCU (body control unit )

unlikely to be a fuse as you would get no light.
unlikely to be short to earth on courtesy light side as BCU would not get signal to indicate door ajar

It appears BCU is being signaled that door is permanently open most likely is stuffed door switch

Alright, after swapping the door ajar buttons the problem persisted on rhe driver's side. After some fiddling, it went away. Drove home fine. This morning it came back on, then went off after messing with rolling the windows up and down. Gonna try and unplug the battery for a bit. :/

After reading that your problem is intermittent, I have less faith in it being a software issue but the battery disconnect is cheap. Don't forget that will also reset your ECU so throttle response will be shitty for a while. Don't freak out about that.

I did catch in your OP that you swapped the switches so those are fine. It's a messy but short trip for a single conductor from the switch to the BCU.

doesn't the trunk throw the "door ajar" light up? I know you think you have it narrowed down to the door but give it a whirl. if the trunk doesn't actually kick that light on, ignore me as i'm still drunk

So much for scanning for words. LMAO. I see "button" now. But after reading through it some what more thoroughly, since messing with it solved it briefly, I still think it has something to do with the plunger.
