Search Reimax oil pump gears on google and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. I'll probably be selling my Reimax pump and RacerX sump soon as I am going dry sump.

I bought one, verified the math, concluded the volume should be significantly higher than both pumps, and sent it to Element tuning to test on their race car. Haven't heard back yet. Did you ever get a running engine / data logged comparison after installing the Reimax pump?

I think I am misunderstanding, are you talking about higher flow from just the gears, or an entire new pump?

The Reimax pump is only the gears, the stock casing is used.

Just reading through the last couple of pages on this thread, and thought I'd post this..
Some talk of head restrictions to get more oil to the crank. Subaru have already done this with the holes in the rocker posts. Early engines have massive holes in the right bank of tappets, whereas later engines have smaller holes in all 16 rocker posts. I don't remember the actual size differences, but it's quite big when considering area.

No way. I have no idea when the change was made, I just noticed the difference on a rebuild of my 2012 engine. I believe there were issues with the cam timing? This may be something to do with it?? I have a 2012 and a 2014, this is how I found the difference. The earlier engines have a different part no for left and right rocker posts, later they're the same. ![]() Heres a pic of the left and right next to each other..

Thanks by the way. Also, is it just me, or are those holes huge for the given purpose? |

Sorry, I don't have the part numbers. Before changing anything, you might want to check the timing gears haven't changed to suit the different pressure in that are.. I doubt it, but you might want to be sure first??

I see your misunderstanding. It's a gear type pump. If you look up positive displacement gear pump you can find a few helpful animations to explain it. The gear doesn't turn the pump, the gear IS the pump. Well, it is the guts of the pump. The gear and outer ring are the part that actually moves the oil. These gears form a bigger pocket, moving more oil per rev.
