Read through the whole blog and posts here... Maybe I missed it but will this kit be compatible with only LS1/LS2? It sounds like due to money constraints on the owner the kit will not be developed with the LS3 in mind? Can you speak to this at all or give insight into how much harder it would be to use a LS3 + your kit as opposed to a LS1/2 hybrid like you have?

Thanks & I'm looking forward to more info as this kit progresses! Ahem, pricing/timeline.

Which LS you choose shouldn't matter. They should all mount up the same.

Just a thought:

Emtron Australia has the FR-S/BRZ CAN conquered.

One of their offerings is a "budget" SL8 box for about 30% of the cost of a Motec.

This way you would not have to have a GM ECM, Subaru ECU, and a CAN translator/hack device in the car to run an LSX swap.

The problems I see is the intake tubing/throttle body... the ECM controls and it's ability to connect to their future black-box setup. Among other small things they mentioned were LS1/2 specific in their blog (accessories on front of motor, etc).

All of those parts are interchangeable, the bore doesn't matter.

Any of the non-EGR intakes should work. The EGR compatible intakes have a longer neck for the throttle body that could interfere with the stock hood.

Interesting pod cast with Slip Angle with Terry Fair from Vorshlag Motorsports and the FRS engine swap, and in manys opinions, why they are the best at what they do.
