About what aspect of your writing are you the most insecure?

I've had a few fiction stories published, and each one has required more editing time than composition time. I wrote a 65k word novel in 6 weeks, but I've been editing it for 1.5 years, haha. So hard to let go when each day you improve and thus the day prior is no longer your best effort. Like a serpent devouring its own end, I find myself caught in an obsessive loop of editing I can not free myself of.

I'm not sure what you would actually call it. I've always called it text based role playing. It's the nerdiest thing I do. Someone makes up a story with a plot and goals, sets guidelines and rules and then people join by making up characters. It's on a forum and each post is one character's response. I've always described it as writing a book one page at a time, with each person involved contributing a page.

It's a little sad though, the site I'm on has been low on members for the longest time so we barely get new topics and stories about which to write.

Actually semicolons don't much bother me, nor do hyphens. It's commas. More than that though, I fear the criticism that creativity invites.

Just look at how critical everyone is of someone's vehicle, and then imagine if what was being criticized was your mind and imagination.

It's kind of horrifying, really. Haha.

I used to do amateur writing but haven't done anything of that nature in about 3 years. Used to come up with awesome words and write pretty smooth. Now I can barely come up with obscure adjectives to describe something.. Brain got lazy.

If the site didn't get infected with malware, I would post a link to the walls of text I used to write.

Never let the fear of criticism hold you back from creativity. For every person that may dislike something there are just as many that do like it. Using the cars as an example really doesn't count because that is not always creativity on a personal level but simply trying to run with the crowd or impress a certain group.
