I love my Pmu club racer pads. I use them for HPDE, autox, and street driving and they're awesome.
They defintely have been eating away at the rotors but I love the way they feel and the control they give. They have never overheated on me and after bedding them in and running a few events they don't even squeal on the street that much compared to when I first installed them. Running 245 MPSS tires, castrol srf fluid, stainless lines. |

Picked up a barely used (< 500km's of street driving) set of Club Racers for way less than new, can't wait to get them installed over the weekend (and new rotors all around). ~108k km's and many track days have not been kind to the stock rotors

CSG Mike is extremely knowledgeable and he has covered it very well for you. As for my personal experience, I just DD/Canyon/Trak my PMU CRs mated with the stock rotors. Still on my first set for everything. In terms of warp or crack on the stock rotors, it's all depending on your driving style I believe! |

Searching through old threads, it sounded like people were unable to generate enough heat on stock tires with xp10's, but haven't heard of PMU CR's with as many reported issues. Perhaps that's just cause anyone spending that coin on a pad knows damn well how to properly bed them, but either way - did you bed on "closed" street or track in the area? For my XP10's, I initially bedded them by going 40-5 mph without ABS about 10 times back-to-back on track tires (NT05's) on a "closed" street. That seemed to bed them in fine, certainly enough to get to the track where you'll easily heat them up in the first few laps.
BTW I pulled my XP10's after two track days and they looked to be in good shape, much better than the previous PMU HC+800's I was using. I saw some minor heat checking on my stock rotors (not quite to the edges), and have a set of cheap Centric blanks ready to go.

Bedding pads isn't hard. Just do repeated 65-5 stops until the pedal gets a touch soft and the brakes are smelly.
Now drive home (using the brakes as little as possible so they can cool) and let the car until everything is back to ambient temp. BANG! Pads bedded. |
