There is red in the interior?

Don't even notice it anymore much less be bothered by it.

He is currently saving to buy my car for whatever the dealer offers for trade in value when it is trade in time (which coincides with his 17th birthday). This means he should be very good at MT by the time he actually owns it. His birthday present that year will be some formal track instruction where he can learn some better control and introduce him to the sport (see Strat not anti track just anti breaking my DD).
Wow you're taking this to another level! lol I love it. I would do the same haha

The first 30 or so vehicles I drove didn't have a tach or rev limiters and I managed to never blow up and engine. You don't have a gauge that tells you when to brake or steer so why have one tell you when to shift?

If you were closer, I would let you drive my car! Just give it a try, you don't like it, then that's completely fine!

Whenever I put the car into manual mode, I always redline because I forget to shift lol. When I hear the engine screaming at me, I quickly reach for the paddle or the shifter while saying "sorry baby, I like screamers."

LOL I have been reading almost that exact same things since 1973. Every year it has been "within the next few years".

So are you saying it's the same old song and manual transmissions aren't going anywhere?

Well some day they may be right but until that point they will be wrong.
Each stage of development of the auto was going to do in the manual.

I think it may happen over time, but first what you will see is the manual becoming the "added cost" option over the AT, primarily from a "because we can charge for it" option.

When I wrote my 2004 Camry off, I was insistent on getting a manual to replace it with. My dad said ok (he owned the car, and was giving me 5k to get a new car with from that) but he'd only let me if he taught me how to drive properly. No radio, no tach and if i spilled his coffee, I paid his gas on his truck for a week. That was an interesting experience. After that was all done, I shifted by my ears and how the car felt.

Day to day, I don't miss shifting my own gears, but there is a certain feeling you don't get from the AT on most cars. However, the twins are great with an AT, and I don't feel the disconnect like on my work truck. The whole "connectedness" argument is such BS.

If it wasn't for the electronic woes I was having, I'd be perfectly content with my transmission choice. Even still, I'm quite happy.

LOL. The only people who defend manual are too insecure to ditch the 3rd pedal because of small penis syndrome.

I DD'd manual for 2.5 years, but Toronto traffic got annoying, and my family gets use out of my car when I'm on the road. My mom is terrified to drive stick, because she also deals with Toronto traffic even more so after being rear ended by a transport truck at 80 km/h. So one less thing she has to worry about, the better. And my dad is also secure enough with his manhood that he doesn't need to worry about "lolololololol auto loser" comments.

For me, my number one priority (aside from what was financially feasible) when buying my next vehicle was that it had to be manual.

I'd learned on a manual. My second car was a manual. I thought perhaps manual did not matter much all that much to me, and as such my third car was a Lexus IS--the same Auto in this vehicle.

I could not bear it. In fact, the center console had a deep beverage holder, and sometimes when particularly bereft on the lever I so desired to my right, I'd grab my water bottle and place it in the center console and simulate shifting. Like I child making *bang* noises with a real gun, this simulated joy did not last for long.

I sold the car after 9 months.

I feel I absolutely need a manual, and for a car as "connected" and positive feel oriented as this vehicle, I think it is a big mistake to have this wonderful gearbox absent from the driving experience.

Free advice, but you might want to talk to Bergen23, or better yet, his dad, about your problem.
