$5 more per month than my legacy. Have 2 cars currently a 2011 Kia Soul and a 2010 Legacy which is something around $50 a month so it'll be $55 a month.

As was said earlier in the thread, Canadian insurance is odd for vehicles. Each province has a single company that everyone has to go through. The company is different for each province, in my province it's SGI and it's government owned (I believe most if not all are in Canada). Everyone gets the same basic coverage from them at a $700 deductible, at least with SGI. Then we can supplement that with other insurance companies. For example I have a $50 deductible (instead of the $700 since I supplemented with another company), with a bunch of extra coverage goodies that I'd have to check on, for about $300 a year.

Anywho, since everyone gets charged the same amount with the basic insurance for the vehicle, that includes your license plate, regardless of age, the only thing that varies is the type of vehicle and safe driver rating. There are points for every year of safe driving (no at fault accidents) that give you % discount up to a certain number and likewise you can go negative to increase those rates. Everyone starts at 0. At least for my province, not sure if others have this system too.

At the 0 safe driving mark (what everyone starts at), they're listing the BRZ as $1562 a year. FR-S is $1438 a year. I find this interesting as my current car, a 2003 Celica GT-S, is $1586 a year. (Source: They have a "rate calculator" on their website)

TL : DR
- BRZ $1562 a year
- FR-S $1438 a year
- '03 Celica GT-S $1586 a year

I got a quote from state farm for $445 for a 6 mnth policy. That would be 74.17 a month. Oh by the way this is full coverage.

You're definitely NOT in Ontario! We don't have government run car insurance, it's a competitive(using that tern VERY loosely!) private market. We'd kill for a more efficient government run system. The government run insurance is run just to cover costs and claims so rates are more reasonable than in Ontario where it's all run for profit. I'm not against them make a profit per se, but when it's in an industry that you have to to use by law to drive, well it's just ripe for screwing people, so they charge what they can away with, whereas in the government system they charge based on what it really costs to to cover with no profit motive. Car insurance sucks in Ontario!

Hmmm, I was under the impression it was that way for all of Canada, perhaps it's just western Canada. As someone mentioned before Manitoba, BC, and Sask, have the "one insurance company to rule them all" and I'm pretty sure Alberta does too. I stand...err.. sit corrected.

Tis a shame for you guys then.

USAA here too, 37, married, no tickets.

$103 per month for both the FR-S and my wife's Sentra. Removing the tC actually lowered my premium.

Mine wasn't so bad

29, single, no tickets.
Paying $900 for a 6 month term with my 94 Integra and FRS. Looks like it will go down to $109 a month after I sell the Integra.

I'm 33 single male with a clean record for the last 4 years. Erie Insurance (regional I think) and it's $795 per year. It's full coverage and cheaper than liability only insurance on my 3 other cars, 92 Toyota PU, 93 4Runner, & DD 1990 Celica.

I was quoted 1200$ a year with good limits from wawanesa. Should go down a bit as I added lowjack to my car.
