GS intake installed

Found one for sale (used)... at a reasonable price. Install took all of about 20 minutes. Reset the ECU and went for a spin. Did a few "known" roads with acceleration challenges for my NA rig... and found enough of an improvement -- especially with one roll-on acceleration (45'ish to 65'ish ~ 3K to 5K+ rpm...) turn that I'm glad I did the mod. Butt-dyno seemed to show a bit stronger and smoother pull.

Edit/Update: Went out this afternoon and romped around a bunch of familiar back roads where scooting through 50+ through twisties is fun-times. I've done these a bunch w/just the K&N drop-in and it was "OK" - did a bit more down-shifting than I'd like. This time... the diff was noticeable... especially when winding out 3-4 gears around 3.5 to 5.5K rpm. And with my Mich Pilot SS shoes... it's been a little tough to break the rear loose on take-off... not any more. Nice!

Side-benefit is how the install cleaned up the front of the engine bay w/o the Resonator Box (connected to OEM airbox).

I do believe so, although I am not 100% sure one was made header specific. I see Steve answered your question here (there is also a ton of information in this thread regarding it's MAF scaling, running this with header tunes, e85 tunes, etc): http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=78903&page=4

And as Steve mentioned, give the folks at OFT an email requesting your tune, and they should be able to help you out. I would be surprised if they didn't have a GrimmSpeed intake MAF scaled tune for UEL, and if they didnt you could easily apply the MAF scale from a non header tune to their header tune. And to answer your other question I know that they have different octane tunes.

I'm holding out for a dry filter package!

I was considering grabbing an AEM dryflow filter and the Grimmspeed intake, but this is good news!

Yep this is the last missing piece I'm waiting for, before getting my car tuned on a dyno.

Hopefully they still plan to release it.

There is no offical Grimm Intake specific Stage 2 UEL tune as I know. I had asked about this way back and so has a few other members.

We were all told to use the OTS UEL stage 2. Correct me if I am wrong. But if Shiv does have a Grimm specific UEL or OFH stage 2 I would love to get a copy.

From your posted link, a member Koa made his own by applying the MAF scaling, and was playing around with it. But its not perfect and experimental, running lean at times. But looks like the topic has kinda jump started again.

If its leaning out in spots and the maf scaling is ok

check the engine load limit tables against the measured engine load\rpm where its leaning out you may need to increase the engine load limits, their are two tables usually in with maf scaling called engine load limiter A and B or soketimes B andC

As i said in the other thread, i dont know how to copy scalings or make map adjustments. Nor do i want to try and possibly have problems. That is why i asked for a premade map.

Any update on the paper element?

(I think paper is the 91st element in the periodic table with the symbol Pa)
