If there was a sign that says no backing into stalls (or anything relative to that nature) then the ticket is valid. Now if there isn't any signs at all then that ticket can be voided. Legally there HAS to be signs posted on the other hand California vehicle codes are followed by the entire state. They are mainly regarding missing a front or back plate & or if your registration tabs are expired. Make sure to look up your ticket online and look at the pictures if there isn't any then that could also get you out of not paying. Good luck!

I don't know the parking situation at your school, but I would find a wall and park front in and really close, doubt anyone would put the effort to walk over and see if you have a front plate on...

Simple: if the state law, which CA is a two (2)-plate state, you are required to have two (2) plates on your vehicle. They have been specified as both front / rear license plates. If the person who issued the citation is a peace officer, then yes, you can get a ticket. If the individual is campus security they can only issue you a citation for the event unless they have the ability to ticket you (this varies by campus to campus). You should have received a book upon arriving to the school that specifies what is deemed an offense and what is not.

If you have out-of-state plates, like this guy, then just laugh if they give you a ticket for it.

Bottom line: There should be a hand book at the school that defines what is an offense for a citation/ticket, and whether or not the individuals (peace officers, security forces, etc...) are capable of issuing you a citation and/or ticket.

And yes, there HAS to be a sign posted somewhere that says no parking, an enforcement sign, something; however, if it was specified in the book they give you that says otherwise. The sign posting is mostly used for illegally parking somewhere. If there is not a sign that says do not park, then, by all means park away. You'll fight the ticket and chances are you will win and they will thus place a sign. <- happened recently with someone I know and the day after he fought the ticket a sign was placed (but I shifted topics).

Hence my usage of the term "parking enforcement", which are authorized to give out citations of violations of CVC as it pertains to parking violations (a front plate would be included in this category).

here at ucla, officers are ticket heavy. also i would never take my brz to campus or anywhere around it. some college students are cheap and careless so you may get a lot of random nicks and crap from other cars.
