Open Flash Header Install Instructions/Video
Does anyone have a link to the installation instructions or a DIY video for the Open Flash Header?
I'll be getting mine in the next week and I would like to get a good idea of what I need to do. I watched a video for the ft86speedfactory catted header install and I'm assuming the install is pretty similar. But it would be nice to have the step by step instructions to read through while I wait. |

Nothing at all? Shop says it will take two hours to install. Is this reasonable?

Would the install be difficult without a lift? It seems so straightforward

It's freaking annoying getting under this car without a big lift
I've done it, but when the exhaust piping is still warm and when you're lowered, it just becomes even more cumbersome. |

Also, unless you're taking the vehicle to a dealership or shop there's no reason to work on it warm (unless you're changing oil in which case you want it warm).

I've swapped headers 3 times. It's a major pain in the ass without a lift, but still doable. I think I did mine in about an hour start to finish, but that was with smoke breaks and beer drinking. Just take your time, find a DIY (or follow this link for a solid DIY, it's what I used the first time I did it) and try not to drop the OEM header on your face.

So I successfully installed the open flash header on Monday. Unfortunately, I didn't see that link in time @Bergen23....
But I used a mix between the ft86speedfactory diy video, the borla pdf, and the borla diy video. It wasn't bad at all! It took me about an hour and a half with some help from a friend. I'm so glad I didn't have to pay $200! My frs is lowered about 1.25" but I didn't really have any issues getting under it to remove the stock header. I just jacked the front up and got to work. Thankfully I didn't come across any problems either. If you have the tools and you know even the slightest about cars then this will be a pretty easy install. Yeah, it would have been easier with a lift but it's totally doable with just a jack. |

This is quite easy to do, and only need to get the front end up. Either jack stands or ramps.
