If you got a 6MT get a perrin shifter stop. It makes a world of a difference.

Maybe soon enough we will have enough members to have a sub section for wrx's ! It can be fa20club.com instead of ft86club.com

On a more serious note: So far it has been pretty reasonable guys that have switched so over all it has been pretty good here. Only a matter of time before somebody starts trash talking the 86 and this thread turns into a bloodbath. Then we will all just be fanboi, wattabes that don't know a real car when we see one. Already have seen that as soon as somebody says they don't like the 15s (albeit in a rather aggressive manner) in this thread they get called an idiot and a troll. This is a vs thread so both sides of the coin are going to be expressed. It is not the OHHHHH the WRX/STI is super, peachy, keen and everything is wonderful thread. I personally will stay firmly planted in the middle and will even buy a stripped shirt if it helps. ![]() Shit, I hope I don't actually start a problem with this!

I mean, I never thought the new 15+ was a pretty car. I like the looks but it isn't amazing to me. That's all subjective though.
They're different cars meant for different things. It's just funny when somebody comes in and all they have to say is "that car is shit. It's ugly and it's not even a real STI anymore. The real STI died years ago blah blah blah". I mean, I guess... But look at the track record for the new chassis. It's undefeated in the U.S. Rally series this season. Placed 1st in its class at the 24H Nur. Set a new record, beating the previous chassis time at Isle of Man TT. Statistically, it's a far better chassis in so many ways than the previous generations. It may not be your favorite (my favorite is the 06-07 and 2dr GC8), but it's still a good car. Not perfect or anywhere close.. But still good. I can be realistic though. A lot of other people come with a vengeance scrutinizing different cars, or better yet, will fight to the death on a forum defending their car. Like the people who post the "FRS vs 911 GT3" threads. And then try and talk how the GT3 is only a better car in terms of straight line speed.. Like seriously?? Wtf are people smoking? The cars aren't even anywhere close to being in the same category.

Agreed. I for one love both cars lol but can definitely see how the wrx is not for everyone. Then again I guess that could be said about every car.

Combine that with an improved interior (fit and finish) and more standard technology and better safety and saying that the 2007 STI was the pinnacle of the model is just silly. |

Oh come on. The STI and WRX and Impreza are not pretty cars. With the STI bodywork, they certainly look aggressive and a bit exciting, but pretty? I don't think so. That's not to say it isn't an excellent car. I'm sure it is. I'd like to see a new engine, though. A built FA20 with a large turbo would make an exciting engine. Hopefully they'd put a serious oiling solution on there, enabling 600hp modded. Then I can transplant one into the FR-S.

The problem with looks is that it is such a personal and opinionated thing. I mean just look at this forum. Some people spend lots of money to make their car look like this and some people think it looks amazing and some people hate it:
