going to sound silly, i get more positive response from the older generation than i do with the younger generation,

the older guys really understand the car and really enjoy it for what it is
my father being one of them coming from a Datsun 240z really enjoys the spirit drives we take from time to time, i even let him drive the car and he smiles from ear to ear

IMO with todays car crowd, if it doesnt have a turbo/supercharger, the car is a POS, its slow, its not worthy of there time,

IMO with todays car crowd, if it doesnt have a turbo/supercharger, the car is a POS, its slow, its not worthy of there time,

I agree IMO, my generation is more interested in trolling, and submitting a funny comment. Which is not what is needed for a blog, forum etc to be productive.

No reason you can't do both though. Not so much with a blog but a forum that sticks to being informative only without any social interaction soon dies from lack of interest. There is a finite amount of info to pass on for any subject whereas the social aspects are endless.
Now there are some that totally disagree and think it should be all business here but screw em I for one would like to see the forum survive.

26 and I got into cars because, fresh out of college and unemployed in 2011, I let my parents convince me it was better to spend $17k on a new Mazda3 than focus on paying off student loans.

Once I woke up a year later, I sold it to put a chunky deposit in. Knowing I should buy a beater with what was left, I instead decided on an equally priced "drivable" Mk3 Supra Turbo and immediately set to learning how to fix it.

After undoing the electrical rats nest the previous owner had cultured, I learned sports cars go fast: I thought nothing could match the fun I had pushing that thing WOT in a straight line... I'd hear the hood rattle in my dreams at night.

But then I got sick of boat-parking it, sold it, and took a risk on a NA 240sx. Once refreshed and ready, I drove it hard as was reasonable-ish through a mountainside switchback of 15mph curves going near 40mph. Not really that fast at all, but 1) I live near enough The Dragon that plenty of roads around here are similar and 2) pretty sure the weight of that supra would've flung me off a cliff at equal speed. I was tense as all hell, but good god, until you've done it, you've got no idea how fun driving a slow car fast can be.

Those experiences taught me that sports cars don't have to go "fast", just fast enough in certain contexts to scare the crap out of you and/or a passenger without being too unsafe.

That as my definition, the question in OP doesn't even exist.

(Now, I'm sure In 3-5 years, I'm gonna slap a tight little turbo in, but it won't be because of anything like "it's not fast enough". I just love the sound and feel of a turbo and it'll stop me from making the stupid decision to buy anything else.)

Tl;dr kids these days are spoiled. They don't know anything anyhow :P
