trust me ive had first hand experience with both
i also had a user made module, the beat sonic is a much "cleaner" look

The beatsonic module would be even more difficult to find the power wire because all the wire are the same color lol.

+1 on the beatsonic LED mod. I went through a few options as well (Diode Dynamics, DIY w/ resistors), and the Beat Sonic is just the easiest cleanest method I found on my RS 1.0. It's what I've been running for the past few months.

So i asked diode dynamics about the lowbeam power wire on there module and this is what i got

I apologize for the confusion but the low beam power wire will not run through the FRS always on module and should be completely separate. The Always on module will not affect the low beam application in any way. The best way to find the wire color for the low beam power would be to use a volt meter on the wires directly before the low beam headlight bulb itself!

So yeah im back to square one. If what he says is right...im about to just say screw it...guess my led fogs will just stay bright...i just dont see a wire anywhere around the headlight bulb housing

All is not lost. It's the #5 wire. If you have a thin pick or screwdriver and some patience, de-pin that wire from the harness on your passenger side. Turn on low beam. If that headlight doesn't turn on - there's your confirmation. If I'm wrong - you lose a few minutes, and you can laugh at my misplaced confidence.

Lol ok ill hold you to that. I think the diode dynamics guy is wrong because i just disconnected that whole gray plug and the headlights would not turn on. So im sure the power wire is on that gray module. If anything ill tap the blue wire on the passenger side headlight and do the always on mod on the drivers side. Hope that works lol

I'm not sure of the blue wire on the passenger side, but the two mods will not interfere with each other. Good luck!

How long are the led drls supposed to last? Having them on all the time should drain the power faster.

Years. I forgot the actual figure, but it was something like 20k hours or something (according to the warranty paper). LED's are tough little suckers, and they use less power than incandescent bulbs.
