Someone's been bought off. Regardless, the customer ends up paying the difference, the cost is covered regardless of base model or not. It's always more cost efficient to produce in higher numbers, limiting drives up costs. Again, the facilities are already in place so limiting their use is less cost efficient. It's also already been posted in this thread that the BRZ in N.A. has the leather/alcantara. So much for not available in this area, now it is available and they're limiting it to a specific car. That's not cost efficient at all.

There in lies why it doesn't make sense that they removed the red stitching from those locations. It's so few that it can't possibly make a huge difference in the overall cost of the vehicle. Actually, now they have to buy/produce black thread in addition to the red thread. It doesn't make sense why they would change that, at all. Aesthetically, it ruins the look.

You might be right, idk. Currently, I'm just writing my opinion here. Only Toyota & Subaru reps can answer that.

As for black stitching, RC model is black stitching. So it's not FRS specialized parts. They're just shaving cost here & there... Unless you wanna pay well over $36k for all the features

I have a 2003 Toyota Celica GT-S TRD Panasonic edition *points at sig*. At time of purchase from dealership, after all was said and done, it cost $38k and that's without fog lights and the sunroof. Spec wise, the 7th gen Celica is not far off from the 86. 100hp/L., similar power to weight ratios, obviously similar styling. The GT 86 Limited has even more goodies and better materials, so for $36k, you're damn right I'd pay that.

I want the option, I'm not saying everyone should be forced to get those options. I'm saying they should be available to those who want them, so that way those who don't want them don't have to pay the extra cost for them. Those who do, end up paying. Just because they make them available doesn't mean everyone has to pay over the base price.

Everything the TRD edition has, but they put in a "premium Panasonic" stereo and head unit in it. I believe the colour keyed interior was also part of that package:

That's why it's optional.. or rather should be. If you want it, get it, if you don't, don't. You only pay for the options you select.

I'm keeping it. Unless I see the Toyota GT 86 Limited for sale in North America, since it's an upgrade from what I have and the FR-S currently isn't.

If the FR-S ever offers the same options as the GT 86 Limited, I'd consider it as removing Scion logos is relatively easy. (Don't even go the Subaru route with me. Tis a silly place.) I'd really prefer it came straight up from Toyota though, so I don't have to bother with conversion non-sense.

To some, yes. I don't care though, it's a Toyota sports car and one that is fun as hell to drive and it meets my aesthetic tastes. I enjoy it, therefor it's worth the extra coin to me.

Nice to see some more Celica owners on here. I thought I was the only one. I have an silver 03 also with basically the same TRD package except mine has the jbl upgrade. And yes I agree with you 100%. I totally feel like the FRS is a downgrade equipment wise from my car (handling and driving dynamics are way better on the FRS though) but I can't justify getting rid of the old girl to downgrade to no leather and no HIDs (and no I don't want to install them aftermarket). I am most likely gonna give subaru my money unless I hear something better coming from Toyota options wise for the FRS/86 (but I'm waiting a year for all this hype to die down). Of topic how many miles do have on yours. I'm just about to hit 100k.

If you want those options, like I do, and the Toyota badge, let Toyota know. I've been a thorn in their side by messaging them daily on Toyota.com, Toyota.ca, Scion.com, and Scion.ca. Their contact us buttons are small and hidden at the bottom of the pages, but not impossible to get to.

I'm about to hit 82k, mine hibernates during winter.

Here's mine. Bone stock like the day I bought it. Stupid antenna is stuck up though but other than that I baby the hell out of it. I'll definitely write Toyota a long letter on their site. I also heard from other people on here that the toyota/scion people come here regularly and read our comments so I hope there is someone down at HQ making something happen.

Nice. Yeah, those antenna do that after a while. My '90 Cressida eventually did that... only it was stuck down... T_T

Thanks, the more they hear from people like us, the better. They limit the initial questions on the forms to 300 characters. After that though, you can respond to their response with as many as you want.

Yeah, I've heard the same, that's why I make shameless plugs whenever I can <.<; I hope they are watching and listening, but more so doing something to make the Toyota happen.
