No, my bad. It wasn't 1 inch. I haven't measured. I meant 1 inch the car lowered itself, but that doesn't have to do with the preload.

So I adjusted everything today. Cleaned the surfaces, adjusted preload and tightened them....

Now that I tightened them per the manual (I initially didn't use the manual because there were like 4 friends at home who were Tein owners and they just said bro just tighten them with the spanner wrench as much as you can by hand and you're good).

Now after tightening them via torque wrench, I definitely had not tightened them properly before. I still had way more to go.

thanks to all that replied and helped here! I think my issue is no more.

I agree

Now a new one. I started getting a clunk after a Saturday night drifting. I thought it was the not preloaded spring just bouncing around.....

tonight I still have it.

I had never had it before saturday. I checked the nuts on the top hat and they are tight. I might remove the strut tomorrow and check, but any ideas?

I just installed my Flex Z ordered in France also got that manual with those setting and I have put on USA setting. But it's a bit low for my road touching exhaust often I will rise it by 1cm.

Hahhahahaha

The top nut came loose... of course I had never taken it apart, so that was left as Tein left it....

Got a nice bruise in the hand from holding the spanner wrench while torquing the top nut down but was able to do it.

Suspension components... actually any component on the car that will see a lot of vibration should always be rechecked for torque periodically. Or at least once after initial install. girly-man torque
