Checked all the fuses under the drivers side left foot area, the small fuse box with 3 rows. Is that the only one under there? They were all good.

Can anyone show me on a diagram where the starter is? id like to put the multimeter on there and see if its getting a signal. Also does anyone elses car go into gear without starting?

Mind taking more pics overall of the car? This would be a good build. If not already.

Found it http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90987

Looks like your air box is missing. Where is maf sensor ? Without that, I don't think your car know how to breath

I looked at the positive connection to the battery and the left side looks a little fucked, are those fuses in there? And is that one on the left/bottom blown?

Also that fuse is for the dome light, do you think fixing the dome light is going to help my problem?
I think what that is - is a fusible link, and if you read it it says 80 amps per side, so 160 total= which to me, means it's your starter circuit. Might want to check out the wiring on your starter and grounds for your engine.

Typically you will have a straight wiring setup to the starter with a switching relay in between from the battery because that will be the biggest amp draw of the whole car!

Edit: at second look, that blown link looks like it's for the starter alone, I'll look at my car and confirm!

Edit 2: just checked it's a 140 amp fusible link for the alternator!

This is a 80 amp fuse for the electric power steering like someone else mentioned.

12VDC will not hurt a person.
Dont believe me? Go ahead and touch the + and - battery terminals with your hands and let me know what happens.
You can even lick them first.

We tend to think that it can hurt us when we see sparks.
It is more likely to hurt us when we jump to get away from an arc (kind of like a spider for me).

Not exactly what I was thinking, but I'll go with that

Check the AT 7.5 amp fuse near the top right of the diagram, could have something to do with the computer I detect it's in park or neutral to start.

In my business the first thing to do is make a list of all the things that need to be true for the "system to reach a desired state" (starter cranks).

Then verify (dont assume) that each of these things are true and that it is being reported as true to the ECU.
This would usually require probing the signals that the ECU sees while exercising every option.

At work we have a Break Out Box (BOB) for every type of connector on every box in the system, so doing this kind of test is trivial.

For us hobbyists, probing every signal in the ECU connector while leaving it connected is difficult.
The pros would use a "Insulation displacement probe" which is a fancy way of saying "poke the DMM probe through the wire insulation".

The professional probes have a clip that supports the wire and a needle that penetrates the insulation.

If you could make yourself one of these it might help.

Then probe every signal that the ECU uses to verify "OK to start" and do not make any assumptions.
The #1 cause of failed electrical troubleshooting is making incorrect assumptions because you dont have the tools to verify.
That and - Write shit down :-)

Doesn't matter. It will start in limp mode with MAF disconnected completely

I was thinking what it can do with respect to fire... Or the battery being direct shorted with something that doesn't act like a fuse. It's the amperage potential.
