Yes, soon.

I don't have the baseline set yet though, but I will probably get a tune, then do a stock header swap later, do a couple passes just to see the number, then get a small tune adjustment and dyno again though.
Someone is testing them now, on both an automatic and manual. The results will be posted soon, so keep an eye out for it.

So I've had several people at stoplights mention how badass the car sounds! And rev-matching sounds freaking awesome.

UEL is really the way to go haha.

Real quick difference on Tomei vs. Gruppe-S UEL besides the obvious stamping on the flange and the runner paths - the bridges are on the top of the header rather than on the bottom.

The benefit is that with the Tomei header, some customers have noted a tapping sound that comes from the bridges tapping against the undertray, but since those bridges are no longer there for the Gruppe-S, it may not produce that tapping sound. Nice change.

Tomei (picture from RallySport Direct)

Gruppe-S (from my build thread)

From my perspective, it looks like the flanges, collector, and shorter runners are the same, and the only difference is in the longer runners, for better or worse, who knows.

Sorry for Noob question... but is coating the header to hide "bluing" (discoloration) from heat -- or -- protection against rust in wet environments -- or -- both?

likely getting it ceramic coated to reduce the amount of heat that gets into the engine bay.

It shouldn't rust, the material is stainless.

There are a bunch of different coatings available out there. I will do some research to get a price on aluminized coating, not sure about the heat protection, but it is resistant to high heat and excellent in regards to durability.

I'm no SS expert... but I've seen rust on some SS products... usually near welds and such. That said, never took a brush to it to see if it was surface rust or rust adhering to something metallic on the SS. I've also heard of SS not holding up great in salt-water-salt-air conditions (e.g., ss fittings on sailboats). Extreme conditions yes... just say'n. As far as heat protection.. that would be great if true (i.e., can be substantiated with test data). The engine bay can get pretty hot after prolonged hard driving, so anything that could mitigate that would be a plus.

Thanks for the feedback... was just curious.

Generally, any metal exposed to the elements will rust without adequate protection. Ie: a coating and/or cathodic protection.

I will get a header coated in the available coatings we have here and see if you are interested in them. I will offer them at cost to see if it helps with those headers exposed to more harsher conditions.
