Simple, push door out as far as possible, slide seat back as much as you can, lay it down a bit, sit up, left foot out, left hand elbow place on red side of seat and use it as support. Chaching! Or the general way, slide both feet out, and hop out.

I typically only use my legs to get out of the car. Take left leg out first, then push with right foot as you pull up with your left foot, using your back to lightly push on the side of the roof if required.

Its pretty cool when someone comes out of their sport car hands-free. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

P.S. Working out regularly isn't required

My wife dislocated her ankle quite comprehensively and broke her fibula last summer. In the hospital for 4 days, surgery, plate and pins, off work for four weeks. I picked her up from the hospital in the Golf Wagon and kept using the Golf whenever I was taking her somewhere but using the BRZ when I was alone. Then one day the BRZ was out front when we were going somewhere so we tried it. She actually found it easier to get in and out of. Even though it is lower, the doors are much longer, so it was easier to swing her legs and the cast. As long as I picked a parking spot where we could open the passenger door all the way we were fine. We got some funny looks, especially early on when were using one of those lightweight wheelchairs when we were going anywhere that would have required a lot of walking, like the grocery store. I guess most people don't see a BRZ as a handicap vehicle!

My 82 year old mother with her replaced hips greatly prefers getting in and out of my car over my wife's RVR. She just pivots and drops in mine instead of having to climb up. Like you though we have to make sure we pick spots where the door can be fully opened.

My aunt has spine problems and has to walk with a cane and an ankle brace on one leg. Her past cars include a Mini Cooper S, Legacy GT, WRX (auto) and she's in a Legacy wagon.

She was up from the U.S. visiting around Christmas and she sat in my car and got out of it no problem. It's literally the perfect car for a cripple, well, so long as you don't need a bulky wheelchair.

I pretty much do this but without the sliding of the seat. I hate moving my seat and then having to find the perfect spot after getting back in. I'm 5'4", so it seems I'm one of the shortest guys here...
