Not sure if sarcastic or not. Having an IAM below 1 is not bad, it's just not ideal. If it drops loads then it's an indicator of a too aggressive tune, however the fact it immediately recovers means that I really wouldn't worry. 0.98 means that the ECU has pulled 2% of the advance timing, at max on that tune is 0.12 degrees less!
I was going to be more constructive and show you where the IAM dropped along with FLKC and FBKC but you haven't logged engine load so I can't.

Not a great question but gotta start somewhere - I'd like to start logging but how is everyone leaving the OFT plugged in while driving? The wires are too intrusive and not long enough to leave sitting on the passenger side.

Ok, should I be concerned? Best gas around here is 92 Octane. Car is stock (except now has a higher flow air filter). Didn't get a baseline with stock Rom before logging. Started with the 93 OFT and my IAM was roughly around .8 most of the time (usually lower) earlier post has the 93 log. Swapped gas stations/brands and went over to the 91 flash. Now the IAM was bouncing around .45-.70 usually. Only once did I see it briefly hit 1.
91 OFT Pull http://datazap.me/u/pnw-brz/safeway-92-2 So this was concerning me, so I decided to go back to the stock Rom. Granted I only have about 50 miles on this so it hasn't "learned" completely so I'm not holding high hopes. I'm seeing it bounce between .25 (briefly) to about .65 Tonights "stock rom" run on 92 Octane http://datazap.me/u/pnw-brz/run-2-st...m?log=0&data=1 Any idea what's going on here? |

As you can see the stock tune is quite "aggressive" timing wise and it knocks quite a lot on anything but good quality 93 AKI fuel or better. This causes the to IAM dropp as ECU pulls timing to protect engine, this results in lost power and smoothness as the ecu is agressive in pulling timing. guys in south africia have IAM at 0.3 and still getting 3 or 4 degrees of FLKC on stock tune and they dont blow up. The OFT 91/93 tunes are very similar and the only difference is timing reduction over 6000 rpm. even the 91 tune will knock a bit on 91/92 in the lower rpm areas 2000-4000, way less than stock tune as you have found but this can drop your IAM to less than 1. Its not going to cause you any significant issue but if you want to clean it up suggest you apply the changes to timing and temperature compensation here they should solve your issue. I have a few questions on these two logs.
This one is on spring pressure: http://datazap.me/u/erok81/log-1437240088?log=0&data=6 And this is high boost: http://datazap.me/u/erok81/log-1437240088?log=1&data=6 Both logs don't go to redline because I am seeing a few psi higher than my target levels. Due to that, I didn't want to rev it out too high just in case. Looking at them I can see the IAM stays pretty constant at 0.7x. The AFR seems a little on the lean side too, but I'm not a tuner. What do you guys think? This is an off the shelf tune for a turbo car. My wastegate spring is 7.25psi and the high boost target should be 9psi. However, I usually see 9-10psi on the low map and 11-12psi on the high map. |

Hello there!
I have re-scaled my MAF sensor for closed and open loop using that VGI MafScaling tool. I am pretty satisfied with the overall results, but I got yet one area left, in which AFR doesn't match. I assume it's the target value of maf_v=3.20 and =3.44 No matter what I try, I can't get the VGI tool to spit out sane values for this area. Can anyone in here please take a look at my log here? (I'm aware of the IAM < 1 in this log...) http://datazap.me/u/freerunner/wot-p...9&mark=593-558 Is it possible to alter the value of air-mass (g/s) simply via this equation? Code:
mass-airflow_new(maf_v 3.20) = mass-airflow(maf_v 3.20) * 100 / commanded_afr * afr Thanks in advance! |

Just installed some new gaskets, had an exhaust leak when I installed my OFH.
Pretty happy with how the car feels now. http://www.datazap.me/u/avongenesis/...7?log=0&data=1 |

looks like you need to run better fuel or get your tuner to re-tweak a few things, looks like its going lean on the high boost map (12.75 afr ) and your getting more knock. looks kind of lean for a boosted car on petrol. I'm not much good on boosted stuff but overboosting could probably cause that maybe wastegate issues http://datazap.me/u/erok81/log-14372...ata=6-30-35-39 http://datazap.me/u/erok81/log-14372...ata=6-30-35-39 |

just keep the maf curve smooth look at the open loop data and the closed loop data in that area and come to a compromise in the middle is usually a good starting point |
