Curious to know how long this motor will last. While it may "seem like a lot" the amount of engine failures is pretty slim considering the amount of FI applications installed out there. With a solid conservative tune with some caution, curious to see hwo these motors will really hold up.

It's worth noting that many failures likely go unreported on this site as well. I would imagine that a lot of the threads selling used kits, a day or so after they are installed, whom decided to "go another route" are the result of catastrophic engine failures.

The problem is some cars are running crazy amounts of power and holding up fine, others are running very conservative numbers and blowing up. Both of the most part use the same tuners. It really does seem to just be the luck of the draw , and I'm sure driving style plays into it as well.

EVO engines are built for FI though. Unless you mean built fA20 then by all means I'm sure those numbers are possible.

Why not get an EVO then? It's basically an entirely different car so I don't see why you'd compare the FR-S to it.

Built Evo engines, yes. Stock ones are just as unreliable at that power level as we are.

Evo are ugly and i was referring to a built engine. All i was saying is most fa20 builds don't run over 450hp. But i guess 450hp is enough for the average. Ive gotten used to 500hp in my frs so i need more lol

Dyno queen numbers. Great to see the envelope being pushed but at that power level many will agree this engine will not last long.

Have you fallen victim to any transmission issues that I see people coming across with that much power?

Nope, but just recently added some nitto nt 01 tires. So maybe that will do the trick.

Not trying to thread jack but you built your motor with FullBlown right? Just wondering how its holding up and how many miles you have on it. Very little talk of built motors around here.

No i had my shop build my motor. And custom turbo kit. Motor is fine just need more power so going one or two sizes up on the efr turbo. Or either doing nitrous.

Been dabbling over possibly doing a motor build...told myself I wouldn't but after a brief period of seeing what 22psi feels like i'm changing my mind rather quickly
