I'll probably do this. I don't want to remove the battery which I feel is the difficult part. Probably leave the controller in there too but zip tie the wires away.

Do you need to disconnect the battery first or any other wire before disconnecting the wires to the electric motor?

The update is making me reconsider this kit. Potential 220whp, easier wiring and install, partial boost, and even black compressor (maaad)? Yeah it just got back on my radar around avo and works turbo kits.
As long as there's never any splicing wires; I hate electrical gremlins. Can't wait for dyno, pricing, and videos. |

I wonder what is thought for this in long term usage wise .. as in any batteries are usually of certain limited charge cycle count and drop in max capacity by time, i wonder how can be it's capacity be gauged if and when it needs to be changed .. for charger itself with it's many on/off cycles, i'm used to that for many devices it's often better for long life to work continuously vs often on/off cycles. I'm thinking along the lines of eg. 5+ years use .. there will be no 'check engine' light for this
, hence my questions regarding what and how one can do to gauge current state (maybe some profilactic maintenance is needed by time?), what happens if/when (maybe in distant future, but nevertheless, no mechanical/electrical system will work forever) something fails, how/where one should get replacement parts for all the ones that are of limited life/wear targets (most probably - battery & charger's motor)?

You can get batteries from all battery very cheap. As for the parts Rob sells replacements.

@fenton @Robftts I think we need an install video stat. Send down the equipment and I'll start testing.

Rob sells parts - fine. But will he sell in 5 years? in 10? Everyone has his real life, hobbies might change, or focus may shift to some other car model in future. I mentioned long term usage, didn't i?

As much as I love both the car and the kit, Rob is not an OEM or parts mfg. The kit is made from carefully selected, integrated and tested off the shelf parts. From what I understand this is still a side project for him. He has focused on quality assurance, but I have no expectation of an extended (5-10 years) support cycle. If he provides some method, great, I wouldn't be surprised. Still let's not get carried away. The better question might be will the mfg of the parts still be making them 10 years from now. Or perhaps, will you still own your car 10 yrs from now? The answers are probably obvious. |

Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize people were worried about replacing parts on their kits they spent 2k on in 10 years... As stated above I doubt you will even have this car in 10 years...Will any turbo kit/manufacture still be producing their kits then?

Guys careful with what's said. We don't want the thread shut down. Not everyone agrees with the kit. No worries. Just check out the comments on the install video... Sheesh.
